Virgins? What virgins?

I know you won't believe me, so do it yourself. You won't find any number of virgins givent to martyrs in the Quran. I put in 72. You know what I got? Only the surahs that had the verse 72 in them. Then I put in in virgins. The maximum amount of verses I got were these: [037:048] And near them shall lie the virgins of paradise, refraining their looks from beholding any besides their spouses, having large black eyes,

[038:052] and near them shall sit the virgins of paradise, refraining their looks from beholding any besides their spouses, and of equal age with them.

[052:020] Leaning on couches disposed in order: And We will espouse them unto virgins having large black eyes.

[056:036] And We have made them virgins,

[066:005] If he divorce you, his Lord can easily give him in exchange other wives better than you, women resigned unto God, true believers, devout, penitent, obedient, given to fasting, both such as have been known by other men, and virgins.

Where do you get that men get so many virgins in paradise? Even a Quran search didn't find that. So, please, tell me?

Those are added. If it's not in the Quran, it should not be listened to. There is no mention of a certain number of virgins, therefore the hadith about it is falsified.

It's so weird, because there is nothing in the Quran that says virgins for suicide bombers!

If anybody actually studied Islam then they would know that suicide and killing are two major sins in Islam, which results in going to hell.

I find it sad that men would have to be enticed to serve God by offering them 72 virgins. This is a fleshly desire and cannot help us to know or understand God. I want to be in heaven someday, to know God and to Worship God, I need no other motivation. To think that our fleshly desires will be a part of our glorified bodies is ridiculous. Just another rule, made by men, to benefit men. Heaven will not be a place of sexual relations, it will be a place of worship.

1450 years ago when the prophet was trying to spread Islam and gain adherents he had to deal with a lot of macho men who thought life on earth was all there was and there was no accountability for bad actions. He had to speak to these mens using terms they could understand. There are lots of references in the Quran to gardens etc as gardens were highly coveted by arabs in that hot desert landscape. Heaven is described as a garden of wonders. This visual of heaven being a garden would appeal to arabs that prized cultivated gardens. Same with Virgins. Virgins were prized(who knows why) above all types of women. Men preferred to have women untouched by other men(men knew how men could be animals with women) So when the time for war came and martyrs were killed on the battlefield, telling the families that were left behind that those martyrs would get virgins in paradise was a way to assauge grief and make the death less painful. Dont feel sad for Ali, he died for Islam and is rewarded with virgins in heaven.... Eventually it changed into a rally cry of sorts for so called jihadists and suicidal "martyrs". You kill yourself in the name of Islam and for God and you get 72 virgins(why that number I dont know) in heaven. Once again, its something that got completely distorted and used to further the cause of bad "muslim" men that needed an excuse and an enticement for new recruits to strap bombs onto their bodies.

There is entirely too much arab influence in the Islam we have today. God tells us its a mercy to the world and for all nations and peoples....not just for arabs and about arabs or controlled by arabs....sigh!

This is a trick question. If you are a Muslim you know that the answer is not in the Quran itself. It is in another book that is the companion of the Quran that many of your people read and follow. I even saw an Imam or whatever you call them tell a reporter about it on a PBS show a couple of months ago. Don't act so dumb, we know that you are not.
