In the treatment of schizophrenic patients who suffer extrapyramidal side effects, is this caused by the reduction in dopamine in the eps, which then creates an over abundance of acetycholine in the muscles? Or is it due to an over abundance in the EPS, which in turn effects the muscles?

in schizophrenia,ACH as a theory works in the brain, anti psychotics in general depletes ach in the brain by blocking its effects in the pre synaptic level, which leads to the undesirable side effects of sedation and hypotension, still dopamine theory is holding in schizophrenia ,followed by the serotonin one.
