Some people who say they are acting in the name of religion may misunderstand their religion or practice it wrongly. For this reason, it is a mistake to form any idea of that religion from the activities of these people. The best way to understand Islam is through its holy source.
The holy source of Islam is the Qur'an; and the model of morality in the Qur'an is completely different from the image of it formed in the minds of some westerners. The Qur'an is based on the concepts of morality, love, compassion, mercy, modesty, self-sacrifice, tolerance and peace, and a Muslim who truly lives according to these moral precepts is highly refined, thoughtful, tolerant, trustworthy and accommodating. To those around him he gives love, respect, peace of mind and a sense of the joy of life.

~sigh~ We condemn terrorism openly, we bring out the evidence, we socialize with people and show them what Islam really is about and so on and so on ....
Yet, there are people who simply don't want an answer and that's what causes pain most :( We cannot change the world, the change has to start with us. I think we're doing a good job so far.
It's easy to jump to conclusions based on what *some* Muslims do. *I* know that life is sacred and would never take what I consider as such. That said - peace be upon all people.

I learned this past week of the justification of the murder of fellow Muslims because they are not "Muslim" enough - a way of thinking called "takir" - forgive me for spelling it wrong if I did as I do not know the spelling. This is a rare exception to the normal way of thinking, and it is moderate Muslims that must teach the extremists that you will never win hearts to Islam by being murderous and cruel. There is a great deal to recommend the Muslim faith, but there are also aspects of it that many find offensive. It is considered OK to beat a woman if she misbehaves, but this is primitive and barbaric. Perhaps some new edicts need to be made that will renounce these bad things forever, and then Islam will attract even more converts.
As for myself, I will not dishonor Allah with a lie. I can not be a Muslim, but I do honor the culture and their achievements. It was Muslims that invented the centralized hospital - one of the greatest kindnesses ever invented.

What do I think of the link? It doesn't really matter or make much sense when there have been over 8,000 terrorist attacks but Muslims since 9/11.

It doesn't matter what the silent majority may or may not believe if the violent minority are killing us. They are your people, it is your duty to stop them. If they are destroying your religion, YOU must stop them. It is not our duty. If they are perverting your religion and teaching this perversion to the young, it is YOUR duty to stand up and stop them. Otherwise whatever you think that your religion should be or is, it is no more.

Prophet Mohammed (peave be upon him) married Ayesha so she can spread messages of the Koran to other women as the Prophet was shy to go front of other women.

Any system which condones sex with 9 year old females is not moral at all.
