It is a very personal relationship which starts with repentance and then living for and loving Him now and throughout eternity.

We should have a relationship with Jesus, not make Him or faith in Him a religion.

I have a relationship with Jesus, which came after I used faith to accept the Word of God, that He is my Savior and died for my sins. He's also my religion. I believe that religions are man reaching out to God, but Jesus is God reaching out to man. God has established His religion through Jesus Christ, and that religion is the relationship between God and man.

Jesus is an individual. He is God. He opposes all religion. Being a Christian involves having a relationship with Him and despising all religion, including the Christian religion, which is some human creation in which the adherents also refer to themselves as Christian even though they are not. It is annoying and has dire consequences right here and now for billions of people world wide. Those religious people bring about wars, oppression, starvation, discrimination, disease, hatred and all sorts of other terrible things.

Jesus is God and a friend, in my faith. So yes, I have a relationship with Him, closer than a brother.

Jesus is the eternal, all powerful, all knowing, ever present, everywhere God who give up some of that glory to become a man, born of a woman, in order to save mankind from sin. He performed miracles, ate with sinners, was friends with prostitutes, touched the unclean, taught in the temple and washed the disciples feet. He died a horrific death on a cross and rose again from that death being seen by hundreds of people. He is now in heaven waiting for the day when each of us will stand before Him hoping to welcome each one of us home. Definitely a relationship, and, if you choose to enter that relationship it is an eternal one.

Jesus is God. He hated religion. He told us to have faith in him and we would be saved.
