Dr Q says
Jesus said, "my true worshippers shall worship me in truth and in spirit"
Jesus actually says:
Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.”
Like Jesus true Christians give the highest devotion (worship) to the Father whom Jesus called 'his God' (John 20:17). Christians give Jesus great honor as God's chosen king (Messiah or Christ), high priest (who takes the lead in God's worship), and for Jesus role in our salvation (Acts 4:12). True Christians imitate Jesus example and always seek to choose the way of love (John 13:35). True Christians are also no part of the world in general and hated by it!
Jesus said:
“These things I command you, that you love one another. 18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you. 20 Bear in mind the word I said to you, A slave is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also; if they have observed my word, they will observe yours also. 21 But they will do all these things against you on account of my name, because they do not know him that sent me. - John 15:17-21
True Christians know the 'one that sent' Jesus, that is the Father, the only true God (John 17:3). This is the one that 'spoke aforetime by means of the prophets', the God of the Hebrew scriptures named there YHWH (Jehovah). (Heb 1:1,2)

being a true Christian is to follow the example of Christ (1 Peter 2:21; John 13:15; 1 John 2:6) including all the things he taught his Apostles to write for our instruction (2 Timothy 3:16)
Christ warned that there would be many false christians, claiming to believe in him yet not doing the will of his Father. And that there would only be a few *true* Christians doing the will of his Almighty Father YHWH (see Matthew 7:13-23)
So what did Christ do that we must do in order to be *true* Christians?
1. Pray to and serve "the only true God" (see John 17:3) the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (see Acts 3:13) whose name is YHWH
see also;
Matthew 22:37/Deuteronomy 6:5
Matthew 14:23
Mark 1:35
Mark 6:46
Mark 14:32
Luke 6:12
Matthew 6:9
John 20:17
John 17:1-5
John 5:19
John 14:28
Mark 10:18
Matthew 26:39
John 8:17-18
Mark 13:32
Matthew 20:23
Matthew 3:17
2. love everyone (see Matthew 22:39; Mark 12:31) and never harm or kill another human being
see also;
Matthew 5:44-48
Matthew 26:52
Luke 6:27
1 Peter 2:23
1 Peter 3:9
Romans 12:17
3. Preach YHWH's Kingdom which He has appointed His only-begotten Son Yhshua to rule over
see;
Daniel 7:13, 14
Matthew 24:14
Luke 4:43
Luke 10:1-3
Acts 5:42
Acts 8:4
Acts 20:20
1 Corinthians 9:16
Romans 10:15
2 Timothy 4:2-5
Matthew 4:23a
Matthew 9:35a
Luke 9:6a
4. be "no part of the world" of human kingdoms/governments/politics
see;
John 18:36
Daniel 2:44
Luke 4:5-8
James 4:4
John 15:19
John 17:14
John 18:36
Acts 5:29
1 John 2:15
Romans 12:2
John 14:30
2 Corinthians 4:4
Ephesians 2:2
1 John 5:19
naturally, no one would ever follow the above examples of Christ if they did not believe and put faith in the fact that he was sent by his Almighty Father YHWH as our only means of salvation. One must accept and believe and have faith that Yhshua was sent by YHWH as our savior.
agape!

A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

True Christianity acknowledges Jesus Christ in His fully Glorified state (God The Father) and Jesus Christ in His revealed state to humankind (Jesus Christ in the flesh)
and they acknowledge Gods Holy Spirit. True Christianity also believes in being saved through faith, by the grace of God. Our redemption is a free gift from God, so great is this gift, that we could never earn the right to claim it through "Works" or Good Deeds. The "Works" and Good Deeds that we do, we do not boast of, rather, we give all Praise and Glory to Christ Jesus, for producing His works in us and through us. To Him be all the Glory!!!
Praise The Holy Lamb Of God!!!!!

A true Christian is a believer in Christ. They believe that the bible is the 100% true word inspired by God, because Jesus said that it was. They believe that Jesus was the Son of God, he was Crucified, Died, and raised from the dead. He paid the full price for our sins.
We are to try to obey his laws the best we can, and try not to sin. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves. Love our brothers in Christ. Make serving Jesus the #1 priority in our lives. The main word in this is TRY. I cant say that I do all the time, but I try.

Everyone's definition of a Christian will vary, but in my humble opinion, it is one who believes in Jesus Christ, believes that he is the Savior, and strives to be like him in their everyday life.

It has to be someone who lives their life like Christ did. I have yet to meet a Christian who is anything like what Christ was. Even on here, they are judgemental (then say they are being judged as well, so that makes it alright), condescending and narrow-minded. Three words that are as far removed from the supposed message of Jesus as you can get.

my opinion is that a true Christian lives on God`s word on a daily basis. He lives in God`s love for him and ministers love and compassion to others. He knows he is righteous by faith and not by works, and he loves living his life. He wants his life to reflect God`s glory,he points out to Him.
He is aware of the gifts His Dad gives him and acts according to those gifts(love, power,a sound mind, righteousness, health, prosperity, provision),and makes Jesus sacrifice (and its significance) known to the others around.
He loves. :)
