concrete cannot be recycled again, because cement setting (concrete setting) is a chemical reaction between the cement and the water, which allow concrete to hardened, once it s done it cannot be done again, because when you crush down the concrete you brake the relation between the molecules. i don t think that broken or crushed concrete could be reused in a different applications.

Depending on how much concrete you have to break up there are companies within the construction industry who have machines that will actually turn concrete into dust and recycle all the material. if you are talking of a small amount, like a path or patio base etc, then by buying or borrowing a jack hammer ( impact breaker) you can split the concrete into smaller peices and use for scalpings or (hardcore) or dispose of at a recycling centre who would then use for groundfill somewhere.

Concrete in original purpose cannot reused. However, in different ways it has many usage. Demolished concrete can be used as backfill material. It can also be used as pathways, they can be shaped as desired then placed in the proposed pathways. They can also be used as materials for landscaping. And there are many others depending on the creativity of the person. So used concrete is not a totally waste.

Concrete is an exothermic reaction, creating stronger bonds which would be harder to break, and therefore be unsatisfactory even if it were possible. It should be possible to cut concrete into slabs and reuse it, but the problem comes in cutting it into slabs because it crumbles. Break it into peices and use it as hardcore for the footings of another building.
