Anyone worked at Subways before or knows a friend that does?

I might soon work there please share your experience and leave me some good tips since this will be my first job ever. Thanks!

Congratulations!! Starting your first job ever is one of the top five events to happen in your life. I don't know why we can't have awards for such things. Specially since we have rap categories in music awards. lol. Subway is one of the best places to start a new working life . I have never met an unhappy employee. I want to wish you the best of luck and no matter how bad the workday is always keep a positive attitude. It will make the bad days not so bad and the good days will seem like your not working at all.

my daughter use to work there here in dallas.
show up for your shift on time, every time.
don't call off when you are brand new.
wash your hands often.
wear the gloves to make sandwiches.
smile at your customers.
greet your customers with a positive attitude.
try to upsale and ask customers if they would like to add a bag of chips or some cookies to their order.
don't be lazy and expect your co workers to do all the work.
find "busy work" when you are in between customers. ask the manager what can you do, if it is slow, so you don't just stand around not doing anything.
limit your personal conversations. no phone calls unless emergency.

My friend's son is a manager at Subway. I know he demand the place be as spotless as possible, and you must be clean, neat, and wash, wash, wash your hands!
