It depends on what you mean by "best zoom." Is this the best QUALITY zoom or the highest magnification zoom?

Cannon, Nikon, Pentax and Olympus all have terrific lenses and many can be adapted to work on each others bodies. There are also several after market lens available. Vivitar has been one of the leaders there. So it is more a choice of personal preference than anything else if cost is not the object. Good lens are not cheap. There are even several Co's now that rent lenses as a way to get you to buy the more expensive ones.
