I cannot say what the belief system of punks in general involves, if there is even a common core of beliefs. If any of those beliefs clash with the teachings of Jesus Christ, the person would need to change their beliefs. However, this does not mean that a punk cannot be a Christian. It may even be that there are no clashes of values between the core beliefs of punks, if such core beliefs exist, and Jesus Christ. I know one punk, and she is a wonderful person. I think some people assume that if someone is somehow "radically" different, that they cannot be a Christian. Jesus does not care who we approve of or do not approve of as human beings. He loves all of us anyway. It is the same thing with gay people. A lot of people say gay people cannot be Christian. Tell Jesus Christ that. He couldn't give a toss. He has accepted a lot of gay people into His kingdom unconditionally.

How about a punked Christian?

It depends on your definitions of the terms. What do you mean by "punk"? Do you mean fashion, as in black leather corsets and ripped fish net panty hose? LIke blue hair and other fashion types of punk? Or do you mean political punk? Like anarchist communists? Or do you mean sexually deviant punks, like BDSM punks and other perversions? It really depends on what you mean by punk? Because if it is only the superficial fashion trends, then by all means Christianity may not conflict at all in any way. But if it is BDSM perversion punks, then maybe Christianity is inconsistent. And similarly with political punks, you never hear Christian churches advocating for anarchist socialistic revolutions or a new world order...

It really depends on what you mean "Christianity" to be as well. Do you mean only the 10 commandments, in that case you may be able to logically reconcile punk politics with christiantiy, but again probably not BDSM punk sexuality. But if you mean "christianity," to be also what is preached in churches, then you probably cannot reconcile punk politics because it may advocate overthrowing the current political system, withdrawing from the WTO or NAFTA, etc. In Europe there are Christian Socialists and they are not punks because to be socialist in Europe is socially acceptable, but in the US socialists are punks because they are not socially acceptable.

I see punk as a spectrum of superficiality to deep like this (1) fashion (2) music/lifestyle (3) sexuality (4) politics. Of course some punks have all four aspects. The main stream has only 1, whereas many have only 1 and 2 with interests in 3 and 4. Many who are 3 and 4 do not have 1 and 2 because they have a day job and cannot risk being found out.

So in finality, on the very surface of things, sure dress and fashioning yourslef like a punk all you want, that doesn't change what beliefs you hold on the inside. But remember, that punk means other things too that do reflect what beliefs are going on inside of you. As a Christian, you probably don't want to flirt with the darker underground of the deeper aspects of punk that you may not be aware of at all.

I once heard someone say that to appear normal is much more difficult that to demonstrate extrovertedly all of your perversions. I appear very much so on the straight and narrow and the further I get from the norm the more I want to appear the norm to not raise any inquiries. But it can be fun to play "dress up."

No. Punk is a lifestyle. It includes sex, drugs and rebellion. The sex and drugs are arguable, but rebellion is the soul of punk. It says in the bible to obey the law because the law is is lords word, or some mumbo-jumbo, you Christians know the verse, you always throw it out. So it is impossible to be a punk and be a non-hypocritical christian.

I think that there are Christian Punks already. So that would make the answer a big 'yes'.

Punk idealology is against all mind corrupting mass organizations like Chiristianity and all religions. Punk about thinking for yourself and not absorbing bullshit stories that tell you how you should live and the consequences of not living that way.
