I know that atheists do not believe in God, correct? So what do they believe? This is a serious question, I truly want to know...not for judgemental purposes(I am not here to judge, in my beliefs only God can judge)just for my own knowledge. I'm curious so please answer honestly and openly, once again, I am not here to judge anyone.

Atheists simply don't believe in god (more or less - there are varieties of atheism that I don't think you need worry about). That is it. It's not a real binding philosophy.

It's really like the color blue (green, red, pick one). All blue things have that one feature in common...but nothing else. Not necessarily, anyway. Sure, two cars may be blue and you might be tempted to say "see, all blue things have doors and wheels"...no, houses and ships and Marge Simpsons' hair are also blue.

Athiesm is not a specific set of beliefs, just an denial that there is an omnipotent creator (or any creator). We believe that the universe is exactly as it seem, even though we haven't even figured out what all of the universe seems like yet. We do not believe that our lives are influenced or our surroundings created by anyone but ourselves. I cannot personally explain where it all came from, but if you get down to the athiest theory of creation (let's go with the big bang) and religion's (In the begining there was God...), they start on the same basic premise; that there always has been something. I find that paridoxical. Where did all this stuff come from? or Where did God come from?
But my physical environment is undeniably here and I cannot believe in any god that would give us life for an infinitly small section of eternity and expect us to spend most of it worshiping him. If god exists, then I ask only that he let me live to the fullest for a century or so and then I'll spend the rest of eternity worshiping him.

An atheist is just someone who does not believe in God. This breaks down many ways.
A "strong atheist" doesn't believe in one particular religion, say Christianity or Judaism, but may believe in another religion, say Hinduism.
A "weak atheist" doesn't believe in any gods, no matter what pantheon. They may still believe in abstract religious concepts like Karma or spirits, just not gods.
Most atheists in the western nations are "secular humanists": people that don't believe in spirits, karma, gods, the afterlife or any religious concepts.
But there are many types of atheists, so don't assume anything.

You're missing the forest for the trees, Sweetie. You are correct that an atheist does not believe in god. That is all that atheist means. While some atheists may "believe" in something or other, the whole idea of "belief" as opposed to "knowledge" is what it's all about. I don't want to have to "believe" in something that isn't so, and if it is so, I don't need to "believe" in it, because it is a fact that I know. Is that concept beyond your grasp?

Thia question has been asked here many times. An atheist believes that there is no God, and that when we die, we end, completely.
Agnostics do not know if there is a God, and believe that it is impossible to find out until we die.
Hope this clears things up for you.

Atheists don't believe in God or a Creator (which is what an Agnostic would believe in), they live their lives as is. They probably believe in science to explain creation. Everyone is individual and they don't harm or impose their non-beliefs unto others which a lot of religions do!

Atheists (and I'm generalising here and putting myself up as representative, which I may not be, so bear with me) believe that family, friends and love for ones fellow man are good things. That things like chocolate, coffee and a glass of wine with friends on a sunny day are enjoyable. That work sucks (or not).

In other words, they are exactly like you, your friends and family. You wouldn't recognise that they were atheists if you saw them out on the street.

It's just that little 'lack of belief in God' thing that differentiates them. Does that help?

Atheists just do not believe a god exists, thats it, after that they believe in just as many or fewer things as any other person does.

Usually they are generally sceptical, which just means they require proof for extraordinary claims.

They do not believe in all gods, not just yours.

The term atheist means without a belief in gods, as for anything else they do believe, that will very from each one.
