I noticed there are 2 numbers, one on the left on the back of the unit, and one in the middle under a barcode, which one is the serial number? I need to get this right to be able to claim the $50 rebate.

Not familiar with that unit but it should have a model/serial number along with FCC type approval etc. in a easy to see area some place. The number under the bar code is the product and production coed number and you may need that as well. You need to make sure you get all that number. It will have a digit at the left, several numbers grouped in the center and another single digit at the right. The sn# may even be on the carton it came in.
