I have been for about a month, getting more and more forgetful. A few days ago I made the kids lunch, sent them back to school and 2 hours later realized the stove was still on. This is happening way to much, even the hubby has noticed this. I find myself not being able to find the words when speaking,I know what I want to say but find it hard to get it "right"

I am not sure if I should be concerned or not. I don't remember where I put things at times. Like today I couldn't for the life of me remember where I put some loot bags.

Thursday I filled a bag with animal supplies and not even 15 minutes later didn't remember where I put it down.

I have always been very good with memory so I find this strange for me. My life hasn't changed,so it can't be from that.

Is this normal?

The type of memory loss you speak of, and being tongue-tied can very well be coming from a stress overload. A counselor would have you evaluate your "to do's" for the past couple of years, this year, and your anticipated future. Then, looking at what your life is like, the stressors and anticipations, you would identify where you can cut-back for a while.

Other possible things causing memory loss can be, depression, trauma, car accident injury or bump on the head.........I have come through a more serious time than you are describing. Mine was initiated by a whiplash in my car.

I went through this same thing. I forgot where I put things I'd just held in my hand. I'd go to take something out of the dryer and realize I'd never put it in the washer yet. I'd go out to pick up the newspaper, wouldn't find it and then go back in the house and see it laying on the kitchen counter cuz I'd already gotten it. I too had an excellent memory up until then. My friends called me the human phone book cuz I'd remember any phone number after being told just once. I was also having dizzy spells. After a couple MRI's and some blood work it turned out I was not breaking down and absorbing vitamin B12 from my food. My level was so low I had to take injections to get my level back up (one a week every week for six weeks and then one a month for a year after that). Never before did I really pay a lot of attention to my diet. (I was lucky, I could eat anything and not gain weight, 5'7"/110lbs since I was 15 yrs old.) But when I suddenly couldn't trust myself or speak confidently because I now doubted my certainty of what I had or had not done I got really scared. My job, household finances and schedules all were possible aspects to be affected. I was glad that it was something that could be fixed and I really pay attention now. This may not be whats affecting you but it sounds so similar.

Are you on some new kind of medication? Could your forgetfulness be a result of that.

I suggest you go to the doctor and get a comlete physical.
