There are ALOT of products that you can use. If you just got a cut you might want to use "let's jam" from family dollar. It smells really good and makes your hair shiny. It also has a pretty good hold. If its been a while since you got a cut it would be best to get some pomade to hold your hair down. There are many types of pomades but these are what I recommend:

shorter hair: "Sportin Waves" (in a black can usually be found just about anywhere but family dollar is guaranteed to have it)

medium length hair:"Sportin Waves"(in a gold can also found just about anywhere)

longer hair: "Dax"(in a red can found in a lot of places but walmart is guaranteed to carry it)

It took me about 2 weeks to see any results and a few months to be almost fully spinnin.

Pomades and gels are not what gives you waves. All that they do is weigh your hair down to make your waves more visible and neat looking. Durags help to lay your hair down and protect your pattern when you sleep.The only way to develope your waves is to brush alot. A wave is a weighed down curl.
