I wouldn't say I'm on a diet necessarily...especially because the word "diet" has such bad connotations these days. But, I am definitely trying to make healthier choices.

I haven't had pizza for a few weeks, but today my work ordered pizza for myself and all my co-workers. I didn't over-do it, but I did have one slice of cheese pizza. I used napkins to soak up most of the grease from the pizza until almost none would come off onto the napkin. Does this actually do me any good, or is it just a waste of time and something for my co-workers to make fun of me for?

It does help because the grease does have calories in it, but honestly I would just eliminate the pizza from your diet totally. It doesn't really make much of a difference so I'd say it doesn't really matter.

I agree with most of these people. The less grease, the less calories. All that grease is bound to harm ones body in some way or another. And yes there is allot of grease in the whole pizza, but if you dab it with a paper towel, you will end up eating less grease.

Honestly, it's a waste of time. Whatever you see floating on top is still within the bonds of the fat molecules in all of the cheese anyway. It's pretty evenly distributed.

If you're gonna eat it, just eat it. If you feel that it is sabotaging your diet, you could always make your own pizza, or buy some kind of low fat kind of pizza, so you don't feel totally left out when they eat it at work.

You should actually ask your work to make a healthier selection for you - cheese pizza certainly isn't that - even if you mopped up some of the fat. Perhaps asking them for a light vegetarian choice, full of fresh capsicum, mushrooms and tomatoes with a tiny bit of cheese would be a better option - I am sure lots of people in your office would like an option like that... you may as well ask them to consider it in the future - or just stick to eating the lunch you prepared for yourself.

It helps. Pepperoni pizza is especially fattening because of all of the fatty grease- plain cheese would definately have less calories.

If you are worried about one piece of pizza you may not be enjoying life to the fullest. Live a little, eat two pieces and show your co-workers that your not obsessed.

It keeps the grease from getting into your body and clogging your arteries. So it may not do you much good now, but it certainly will help prevent future heart problems.
