I know, it is utter hypocrisy. One should accept that they are accountable for their actions instead of knowing a god or a savior can "forgive" them. Christianity shows no accountability in that respect.

Let me help clarify this for you.
Christ died for our sins in order for us to be reconciled to God. Once saved God looks at us through the sacrifice Jesus made for us. In God's eyes when we have confessed our sin it is as far as the East is from the West. That is the clean slate part.
We are never completely without sin since we are all born with a sin nature. (Hence the need for a savior to pay the penalty for sin).
Salvation requires repentance. That means turning from the habit of sinning. There is a difference between habitually sinning and stumbling. We have a human nature and will never cease to sin.
Someone did take the rap for you, He did it because He does not want you to have to pay the penalty that you deserve.
Only God can judge our hearts. Some who profess to be Christian might not understand the repentance part of the equation. Jesus said, "they will know you by your love". We are to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves.
If you have other questions feel free to email me.
I hope this helps.

IT doesn't mean you cease to sin. It means your sins are forgiven. We are still trapped in sin. Sin will be here until Christ comes again to wipe it out. Nobody said being saved means we are perfect. I agree with you. IF you claim to be saved you should strive to not do the things you did before you accepted Christ. Don't blame Christ for what the idiot followers do. I love Christ.. I just hate his fan club.

We do need to be renewed in our minds daily about His grace and mercy. The thing is we have to make a coscience choice to let our minds be renewed daily.
Yes it is disrespectful and usually leaves a bad taste in our mouths(so to speak). However eager we are not to try to sin, the enemy will fight us that much harder.
Jesus did die for you and me and His blood washed away a multitude of sin. Knowing it in your head and believing it with your heart are two totally different concepts. The more you believe it in your heart, the less pleasure you will find in sinning.

If you are a true Christians= you will not want to sin- however, as long as we are in this body we will- Paul said "what I want to do , I do not do". We need to be renewed in our minds daily- once saved, always saved , however we do need to lean on God to help us stay pure. We are clothed in His righteousness but we can fall- however if we are truly sensitive to His Spirit our hearts will be convicted quickly and we can come before Him and He is faithful to forgive. This question is great however as a reminder that with Christ we died to sin.

Jesus asked Peter three times " Do you love me,Peter" each time Peter said "yes" and the last was " even to death my Lord." Jesus knew Peter was going to sin and deny him three times before it happened. Jesus took all man's sins past, present and future sin away if you ask with a truly repentant heart. God can not be fooled of a truly repented heart. We are now bound to reach for Holiness even though Jesus knows we will fall short as all do. Hypocrisy or Grace extended to us with great unmeasurable mercy.

He died for all my sins past, present and future. Of course we feel guilt for sinning again and we try to correct it. We are not made perfect by Jesus dying for us. God knows its impossible for us to be completely sinnless and thats why Jesus died for ALL our sins. If we are true christians then we will work hard on being better people but even the best christians stumble.

YES, so we ask the question, why do we continue sinning. Why are we "disrespectful?" Why do we continue to rebel?
The one who died and forgave sins certainly is not at fault. Me and you - we are the ones who are guilty. And forgiveness is always available...over and over again. That's true love.

...You got ahold of some skewed theology, bud. You show you completely misunderstand salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. If you and others think you can work for your salvation, or have to work to keep it, you need to do more study, because you are dead wrong.
...In Romans 11:29 we read, "For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable."
...In John 10:27-30, we read these words of our Lord Jesus:
...27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
...28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
... 29 "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
...30 "I and the Father are one."
...We are justified by faith in Christ; we have been given a new nature, one that never wants to sin again; we still have an old nature that lusts after sin, and at times believers do give in.
...Read Ephesians 4 and all its commands - they are written to believers, and Paul instructs them how change from sinful ways to God's ways, and he is speaking to Christians.
...Jesus Christ gives us eternal life - when does something eternal stop? When I sin? If that is what you believe, then yours is a works gospel and is foreign to the Bible. It is also insulting to God, who did everything necessary to provide a full salvation, and you had better examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.

You're right...But Salvation doesn't stop at getting your sins forgiven....it is a continual work of sanctification making us to become everyday more like Jesus. It's not instantaneous but takes time. And as we become more like Him we are less likely to sin.

I think you said it well. Jesus is much more than a scape goat for our sins. I think that many non-christians who find so many unappealing things in Christians would be pleased to read the words of Christ in the Gospels of the Bible.
