Yes, salvation is a lifelong process and not a one time event. We may sin after initial salvation but through God's grace we may endure to final salvation. It is normal for one to sin and then feel a separation from God until we are so disposed as to repent with the intent to sin no more.

Perfectly normal. Sin is, if nothing else, an impediment to your closeness with God. Christ's saving grace only allows you to have an eternal life--but it doesn't save you from the bad effects of sin in this life. So when we sin we feel the same things as the unsaved when they sin. But there's a big difference: we have Jesus Christ. Simply repent, ask Christ to help you avoid that sin, and resolve to love the Lord and sin is wiped away as though it never happened. Don't sit around being guilty. The pangs of conscious we feel is the conviction of the Holy Spirt. That's a good thing to feel. But after repenting any guilt is just excess baggage.

I know I feel that way too. I don't think it's so much that we are separated as we just know we screwed up and feel guilty. If their is separation it's usually on our part not Gods God doesn't move. Now not to see their aren't consequences to our sins. Were not going to loose are salvation but we might looses some of the closeness we had with God once we got saved. In my experience God is always willing to forgive and forget so I wouldn't worry about it to much. And remember the word says,
"therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death".

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians that "So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding (Ephesians 1:6-8, NLT). This is referring to salvation where God has taken our sins and as the Psalmist says put them as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 102:12). This is the judicial forgiveness that God gives us upon receiving His Son Jesus Christ. All the past, present, and future sins are forgiven on a judicial basis meaning that we will not suffer eternal punishment for our sins. We still often suffer consequences of sin while we are here on earth - which brings us to your question.
The difference between Ephesians and 1 John is that 1 John is dealing with what we call "familial" forgiveness like that of a father and a son. For example if you do something wrong to your father, that is fall short of his expectations or rules, you have a hindered relationship but you are still a son. That relationship is hindered until you admit to your father that you have done wrong. The same way works with God, your relationship is hindered with God until you confess that sin. Then the relationship is restored.

That"s why we should pray(ideally) every time we sin. If we're in constant prayer, we'd have little time for mischief. And our sin is what separates us from God. Often we're stumbling in the dark finding our way. Most of us are a work in progress, so don't despair, and don't give up. We all pursue a gift promised. But we must be diligent, or be separated in the end times. And we don't want to be caught standing guilty.

Yes and yes. Just like a kid who disobeys a parent when he knows the parent knows what the kid did.....their fellowship is broken....... 'til it's made right. The kid still belongs to the parent. That doesn't change. As a child of God you realize nothing is hidden from God & that anything done in secret will be exposed. Your salvation doesn't expire. You still belong to the Father, but something's wrong with your relationship status. That's a heavy burden to carry....like you said. As we grow in the Lord, we begin to understand the sooner we confess & ask His forgiveness, the better off we'll be... and back in fellowship again with our loving Father. It's a big relief isn't it?

That's one of those questions that doesn't have a clear cut answer. On the one hand a person who is saved has God's Spirit dwelling in them and so they are never separated from the love of God. On the other hand there are verses that seem to indicate that God's manifest presence in our lives is withdrawn for a time when we are engaging in sin.
James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Yes it is normal- when we are saved we are always saved, so we cannot lose our salvation- however we can lose close fellowship with Him until we confess our sin and repent and then He will be faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. It seems that you are very sensitive to His Spirit because if you weren't you would not even ask this question- may God richly bless you.

Of course your sins come between you and God. However, ALL you have to do is confess and ask God to forgive you.
The reason you feel seperated is that you aren't confessing and asking God to forgive you. Pops

It is normal but just repent and ask for forgiveness. God convicts our hearts to guide us and more like him...you are sensitive to the Spirit and that is good...Remember God is not a god of condemnation.
God bless you as your flesh is strengthened!
