For believers, is it that you're ashamed of the way god made you.

For the rest of you, is it because you want to look different than you are?

Leaving this to the community--what do YOU folks think.

i myself have never shaved, but tend to keep the majority of my hair short--and i do appreciate women who keep hair from getting stuck in my mouth--which, if i swung the other way, would probably apply to guys too.

I don't know, but I'm just glad people do because smooth skin is nicer in certain areas, cleaner too.

For guys it looks nice, and a beard on a guy was so the 80's {and makes him look way older}

for girls, it's just disgusting to have hairy legs. hairy arms are ok. but a hairy face, and this is according to the fashion and society, is really unattractive. Shaving wont really make you look different than you are, by the way. And it seems like a more beter cleaner groomed version.and everyone is ashamed of how they look, take people with braces, they hate their crooked teeth, and what about the millions who dye their hair. they like a different colour. sometimes its not just about being ashamed, but also embracing a new look and style.

I think its just a long term fad. Seems some fads come and go quickly in cultures, and some last a while. You could ask why do women wear high heels and the anwser is the same, fashion.

Someday some child will ask her mother or grandmother, " is it true you used to shave all the hair off of your legs? How gross" and her parent figure will smile and just say, "Well everyone did it, you know, it was just the fashion of the time,"

"Now go and eat your sea weed and play in the streets with your friends. . ."

I don't think it has to do with changing the way God made us I mean we look the same but not as hairy and it's more of a cultural than anything else.

Well shaving armpits makes it easier to control odor. Shaving legs is cosmetic and a social norm. It is just something I do that is part of being female.

I am a believer and I am not ashamed of how God made me, but I am ashamed of the hairs my biological mom and dad gave me (from DNA)...hair is biological, and creational...

All the answers were great....there wasn't one that i disagreed with. The main things are right....God created us naked. hair is gross when it shouldn't be there (Pits, legs for females,etc.) It is just a social norm. And maybe its a long-time running fad!

If god is so concerned about how much hair I have, all I can say is I'm glad I'm not religious. Wow.

Anyway, smooth is good, baby! I just like the way smooth legs feel.

I can't believe the silly questions certain people ask.....this is one.

Being believers has nothing to do with shaving or not shaving.

It's hygenic.....plus, hair is itchy. Personally, I'm getting half of my hair lasered off. As to the religiousness of this question...in Jesus' day, they didn't have disposible razors.
