The Darwin/Genesis question seems so old, and kind of sad.
If you have to believe in the literal truth of the Bible, then believe in creationism.
If you are a Christian, who believes that some things in the Bible don't need to be taken literally, then believe in evolution.
If you value scientific discoveries about biology, then believe in evolution.
If you value scientific discoveries about archeology, then believe in evolution.
If you value scientific discoveries about astronomy, then believe in evolution.
If you value scientific discoveries about geology, then believe in evolution.
I don't know if I'd want to focus just on Charles Darwin. There have been so many scientists who have investigated the nature and the origins of the Earth and it's Biology, it seems odd to focus on one early advocate of the Theory of Evolution.

over the years, I certainly have considered the parameters of christian faith replace. think of approximately the way it replaced into as quickly as held that the international replaced into flat, the earth, God's advent, replaced into on the midsection of the universe, etc. Darwin replaced right into a Christian (a minimum of forward of his analyze) yet his suggestions have been fought against, tooth and nail. we've "clever layout" which leaves it open to assert that sure, the international is a dynamic place because of the plan of God. This has all replaced for the ease of people who attempt to persuade themselves and others, of life after dying, Heaven, and in a guy who got here to earth as a messenger of God, died, yet did no longer, and something of it. by making use of the way, Mary as a virgin, replaced into further as a revision in the process the midsection a while. Now you % to have the two God and Darwin? i'm going to be ineffective whilst it happens, yet sometime sooner or later you ought to have it your way, the place some non secular fanatics have found out a thank you to weave at the same time, evolution and the backyard of eden. And the backyard's web site will helpful have been moved from the midsection East...to...Washington, D.C. ?

Evolution is more than the concepts Charles Darwin wrote about 150 years ago. What we have learned and discovered since then DWARFS what Darwin knew.
Aside from DNA, genetics, anatomy, fossils, geology, historical evidence, and dating technology, there's not a whole lot of evidence for evolution... : )
But of course, you COULD believe it's all made up and that a book written by men 2000 years ago is the truth. Take your pick.

There isn't any hard evidence that anything in the Bible is fact. There is evidence that evolution is.
Advanced beings are the result of a process of evolution, with sudden moments of Light (insight) to advance further.
If you choose the Bible then you will not evolve, but remain stagnate in old thinking patterns. I choose to evolve.
Best to you on your jounrey.
p.s. Darwins theory is not 100% fact, but it has changed the mind of science (knowledge) and helped make a conscious leap in humanity.

First of all: we don't "come from monkeys." We just have a common ancestor. There's a difference.
The overwhelming evidence for evolution is that we share practically all our DNA with other organisms, including plants. What makes us human is a comparitively small amount of genes when we look at the giant scope of things.
I would like to make it clear that evolution is not something you believe in, because there is evidence. It would be like deciding to believe that the ocean is made of cheesecake.
On the other hand, I haven't heard a single worthy argument in favor of god. And for those who think intelligient design is the answer, I pose the question: who created god? If its difficult to imagine a very simple being coming into existence and gradually changing into all of the different life forms existent today, it is magnificently more difficult to believe that a greatly complex creator just popped into existence one day, causa sui, and created us.

I woudl like to answer the "Charles Darwin" part:
1. yes.
2. Darwin didn't make this theory up, other people also came up with the same theory at the same time and prior to him, there were theories of social "survival of the fittest" by Hobbes and Malthus. Its not about "making" it up( as this implies that this theory comes from absolutely no evidence), saying "discovering it" would be more appropiate.
3.Genome, behavior, physical similarities.

I'm happy that you find solace in teaching of Jesus and the Bible. If it helps you become a more compassionate and moral person, good for you, I think that's a wonderful thing. But please, before you condemn the scientific theory of evolution would you take at least one college course on the topic, or watch the PBS 6-part documentary about it? Until you really understand what the theory says and how it works you look foolish dismissing it as both false and a heresy.

The theory that the bible is true is unproveable in principle, but it can certainly be proven false, and is, on the basis of hundreds of scientific errors (as well as some dozens of internal contradictions). The theory of evolution, however, is proveable and I have done so (details on request). But that is actually irrelevant; evolution has been established science for a hundred years, meaning that workers in the field routinely rely on it to give correct answers, and every educated person knows that it is correct. (Even the Pope got it right -- for a change.)

I say no one's opinions are worth considering if they 'believe' in theories, or take the Bible literally; for they obviously do not have an understanding of the methods of science, nor the intellect to comprehend prose and poetry.
This supposed 'duality' of darwinian theory versus the Bible is just one example of how politics encourages stupidity.

The truth is more important than what you and I choose to believe. Darwin wasn't right about everything but his track record is a lot better than the book of fables we call the bible.
Do you that light came into existence because God said "Let there be light"?
How do you reconcile a merciful and loving god who commanded "Thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth."
