What a sick, sad world that a man would drag dozens of people, who could have later gone to Heaven, to Hell with him.

I think the very fact that religious people will even think of bringing the mention of god's will into the tragedy at Virginia Tech is crazy. An acquaintance of mine recently mentioned that there might have been 'hedonistic activities' at VT and this is why God 'allowed' it to happen - this made me scared in humanity as a whole.

All too often I see that 'God' is a loving god and everyone is accepted but then I see the idea that it was justified due to sinners or atheists or homosexuals or whatever religious-oriented reason.

That is INSANE.

I know this is not exactly what the asker was referring to but I see hints of it in some of the answerers and I think they need to step back and look at it for what it is. A mentally ill outcast committed horrible acts of murder. That is what happened - 'Satan' did not show a presence and God did not eliminate people who were 'unworthy'. It was the work of a deranged man.

edit - I personally am an atheist.

I'd like to think that most if not all had but I have no idea. It just goes to show you that we never really know how long we have on this earth, and as such we can't just say "I'll get rigt with God when I'm older" because there's no telling for certain how much longer our lives will be. The saddest part is that, as you said, the killer forfitted whatever chance he might've had afterward to get right with God himself. Those kids may or may not be going to Hell, but because their killer commited suicide he destroyed any and all chance he might've had.

This is actually a good question. We all have time to make the decision if we accept Jesus as our Savior until we die, or until He comes back. I believe that God is the rightful Judge. He knows our hearts. His word is the same for everyone. He is kind, but He needs to be also Just. I believe in His forgiveness. : )

The body flesh of those who were dead will be burried and will return to dust where we came from whether you like it or not. The spirits of dead person will be brought to the attention of God who created us and when judgment comes, Jesus will judge us where will be taken either to heaven or hell for eternal life.

You think that makes it a sick sad world? I think that what makes it a sick world is that someone finds it appropriate to callously talk about the victims of a recent tragedy suffering eternally.

You disgust me.

You honestly believe in a God that would allow a person to get murdered without any reason, and then end up in Hell?

I find that way of thinking almost as scary as what the shooter did. Really.

Dear it is pretty difficult to answer as to how many had received Jesus as their saviour but indded it is a clear cut directuion for all of us that If we are not ready or have not accepted Jesus as our saviour we have to do it now! What do u think? or they may not get a chance to repent and be saved.

So what you're saying is that the Israeli teacher who gave up his life for the kids in his class is not going to heaven just because he wasn't a christian?
Its up to God to judge them and he wouldn't judge on religion.

I think that it's more important to comfort the families still here than to ponder on where dead souls could be right now. That's my stance, but I am not extremely Christian either. I do understand your very Christian viewpoint though, but only because of that title. Anyway, I think we should worry more about what's here than what's already left here.
