I am a plastic surgeon in Houston and if you came into my office and told me that you wanted a rhinoplasty to make other people like you more, I would turn you away.
I can assure you that you will not solve those feelings and problems by cosmetic surgery. I think you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment and should reconsider having your procedure. I would recommend seeing a therapist to help elucidate your thoughts and feelings on this subject before going under the knife.
Let me state this again- this surgery will not fix any of the above problems you have stated in your post. Do not do it.
I hope this helps you and I wish you the best of luck.

Some people can be cruel and if it wasn't your nose then it would be something else because that type of person will find something. It sounds like you have become really self conscious because of the comments made by a few idiots when in reality i bet no one even looks at your nose. Either way, if i looked in the mirror and hated what i saw then i would change it, but only because i hated it and not because of the comments made by a few.

Is it stupid? No. Is it abnormal? No.
Is it wasteful? Yes....
You'll find out sooner or later, people really don't care about anybody else. (of course, your close friends and your wife, if you have one, are not these "people") People make stupid comments about others just to make themselves feel better about themselves.
You'd probably benefit more by talking to psychologists than a plastic surgeon.
If you didn't know already, psychologists are not the same thing as "shrinks." They do not give you medications. They are more of highly trained counselors. They help you think better for yourself. If you haven't done so already, give it a try BEFORE you have the surgery.

No. Because if it causes you that much pain why not? Now we can't all be supermodels but some things we can change and make ourselves feel good.
I had a friend in highschool that had a very distinct greek nose and others were really cruel despite her being nice and otherwise attractive. She had it done and it really changed her whole sense of herself and she felt more confident and pretty.
Of course, its important to love yourself regardless of what others say about your appearance because there are soooo many shallow jerks in this world. But if this will help you go for it. But remember your beauty comes from within and you are beautiful just as you are.
Good Luck and feel beautiful

Yikes, don't have surgery because of what other people think. Do you not like what you see? Do you want to improve upon what you have? Maybe that would be more the reason but if you don't mind what you see then what do you care what others think? Who cares? Get over what others think and do what you think. Do what is best for you. Save yourself the money and buy yourself something really nice. Ugh - don't do something to alter your looks to make someone else happy or do it because some other loser has so little respect for mankind that they felt the need to make fun of you.

If you want to change your nose, do it. If that will make you feel better about yourself, then fine.
But people who knew you before will know you had it done, and you may find another kind of remarks and looks - just be prepared.
People often need to make other people feel bad in order to feel good about themselves. So people that made remarks or teased you before will likely find some other reason to try to make you feel bad.

I don't think that you should be making a decision about surgery right now, it sounds like you need to get help with your self image. Why do you think that you are stupid?? Don't do this for others, do this for yourself-if you really want to...

Do Not have surgery because of what other people think.
The people who like you just the way you are - are the people you want to be with.
