I've been eating a lot of salmon lately, what can I put on it to spice it up? I cook my salmon in the frying pan... I'm a bachelor, so it has to be easy. Soy sauce? anything else?

all of the store bought sesame ginger ones are really good. I prefer the 'safeway select spicy sesame ginger' from vons.
homemade- I never write things down as I make them up, I'm not a measurer- but try a honey/soysauce base and add toasted sesame oil, ground ginger and garlic powder. if you like more bite add some red pepper flakes. spray the frying pan with Pam, put in the salmon, sprinkle with salt (kosher or sea salt is best- but table salt works too) and a little black pepper, coat with sauce(you could marinade it if you thought far enough ahead), sprinkle with sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onions just to make it look pretty. cook on medium heat for probably 15 minutes, depending on thickness. no real need to flip it if you cover the pan- it'll act like it's baking it and will keep the fish from drying out. if you don't have a pan with a lid, a glass cutting board will work- just be very careful when lifting it off. lift away from you and use potholders to avoid steam burns.

1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lime juice and mustard. Marinate the salmon in the sauce in the refrigerator for several hours, or until ready to cook.

In a nonstick skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray, cook the salmon on each side, 3 to 5 minutes, until golden brown, crispy, and just cooked through. Transfer the salmon to a platter. Add the remaining honey glaze to the skillet, and simmer, stirring, until the mixture comes to a boil. Return the salmon to the pan, heat thoroughly, and serve immediately.

Here are few easy sauces that do not take much time or energy to make, and will make your salmon taste gormet every time!

Herb Butter Sauce (this is a quick one!)

1/2 stick butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh or 1 tablespoon dried herb leaves (basil, chives, oregano, savory, tarragon, or thyme)
2 teaspoons lemon juice

1. Melt butter in heavy saucepan over Medium heat (or in microwave)
2. Stir in herb leaves and lemon juice

**don't use margarine or butter spread!

Tartar Sauce

1 cup mayo or Miracle Whip
2 tablespoons chopped pickes or pickle relish
*This is literally all you need- but for more elaborate keep going!
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
2 tsp chopped pimiento
1 tsp grated onion

1. Mix
2. Chill about an hour

Pesto (fast prep)

2 cups firmly packed fresh basil leaves
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup pine nuts
1/2 cup olive or vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic

1. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Cover and blend on medium speed about 3 minutes, stopping to scrape sides. Blend until smooth.

2. Use immediately or cover tightly and refridgerate up to 5 days. Freeze up to 1 month.

**This sauce is awesome with potatoes if you wanted to bake, fry, or mash some just add a little pesto to them. It's great!

You also may want to try baking your salmon. Just put it in a pan with a little water and butter, then throw it in the oven at about 375. It's a little healthier, and tastes great!

I've only baked salmon but italian dressing, though simple, makes for a great flavor, and should also work for frying. just pour on the salmon and leave a little surrounding it.

Salmon is one of my favorites. I don't put anything on it, but I broil mine in the oven. Four or five minutes on each side, NO more. I like mine pink in the middle, it is yummy. You might try butter and lemon, that always goes good on fish.
