I would think more of where do I vote and pay state income tax, etc. Since you are married, where do you and hubby say in Fed tax you live. That is where you have your driver's license and car registered. Students can keep theirs to my knowledge in their "home" state.

You should have your drivers license and your cars registered in the state you consider yourself a resident of. If you are a student, you usually do not have to be a resident of the state you attend school in (unless you are looking for an in-state tuition break).
The easiest way to solve this for you, however, it to figure out where you can even meet the requirements to get a license. Most states require some proof of residency - car registration counts as one form usually, and another form can be a utility bill addressed to you.
Look at the state's list of required documents to verify residency and see which state you can actually prove your residency to in order to get a license.
You wont be able to get a license or register your cars in Louisiana since you never live there - so that one is ruled out. Since you stay in Mississippi with your mom, you might be able to get residency there - but I doubt it.
Sounds like Minnesota is the winner - provided you can get documentation to prove yourself a resident of that state.

Sounds to me like you can pick between Minnesota and Mississippi. You make a good case for either one being your primary, legal residence..

If you want Minnesota, make it there. But register to vote in Minnesota. And then vote, even if by absentee ballot! Also, do you and your husband own property, pay property tax, pay rent, or get a rent payers tax credit in Minnesota? Get documentation.

the law requires that your license be in the state where you live. if a student, its not at the school, but where you call home. in this case minnesota.
