because I know some don't like to be called baby. It's just meant as a compliment but what do you think. Sweetie or Hottie, would you prefer one over the other?

Call me both sweetie and hottie. Plus cutie, blondie and beauty. No baby, cause your're not my daddy. I would have been offended with all of the above probably up until I was 17. But now that I'm closer to 30 and work in Physics research, all of it sounds much better.

I think there's enough to be offended by. Best to look at the intention. If it's not meant in a negative way, I say accept it as a compliment and move on. I think Sweetie is better than Hottie. Hottie has more of a sexual connotation whereas Sweetie is kind of innocent.

It's been said to not let a man call you baby unless you want him to treat you like one. That was started by the womens right activists and most of the women i know don't agree with it. To me any term of endearment like baby, sweetie or hottie IS a compliment and a way that the guy is showing how he sees the woman. Not that if he calls her baby he is saying that she is a baby but that he wants to take care of her, protect her and that. Personally i don't prefer one over the other.

Baby and sweetie are ok, hottie is not ok with me, however, only because I don't like the word. And this is only ok if I know the man, I don't want a stranger talking to me in this manner ever. God bless****

neither because the only peole who have ever called me sweetie were old men, and hottie just sounds like part of a bad pick up line
