spastic quadriplegia and cerebral palsy with developmental delay. He is 7 years old, and had some brain damage at birth. Thanks for your answers!

It really depends on Individuals. Life expectancy in people with cerebral palsy is related to the severity of their condition. People with milder forms of cerebral palsy have the same life expectancy as the general population. Those with severe forms of cerebral palsy typically have a shorter life span, especially if they have many medical complications.

He might live just as long as anybody else if he has a good health care system and a family or friends who are supportive. People with mental retardation, communication disorders, or severe psychiatric conditions sometimes have a difficult time explaining how they feel--so some health problems might get worse without treatment. Someone who can express himself better might seek treatment sooner. But some people with cerebral palsy don't have mental disabilities. I have heard of some people with cerebral palsy who live into their 70s and 80s.

From a personal experience be a best friend and treat the 7 year old person like other 7 yr old even if the 7 year old is brain damage they can teach you something.
As for how long until you have to. Be strong you’ll find good times and very hard times but for every smile, giggle and even for every laugh the 7 year has it will be worth having a life time…
