oh man, sounds just like my dad. no one can hear anything when we go to his house cause the tv is so loud. i've told my dad he needs to see an audiologist for his hearing. he say's"yeah, i know" and then blows it off. honestly, i think he's afraid that if he goes he really will need a hearing aid and then he'll be old. he's 78 but he doesn't think so. you could try and sit down with him and have an actual talk not just a passing suggestion. he may tell you why he doesn't want to see the doc or admit to his hearing defecit. my guess is, he doesn't want to admit he's getting older. it can be quite a blow to the ego. best of luck.

Let him do as he wants. If you really want him to get one leave him with a posotive article about the benifits of a hearing aid. Make sure you keep the price to yourself until he seems intrested.

This is tough. I had the same problem. Finally I made the Dr appointment and took him. ... It didn't do any good, he has his hearing aides but never wears them LOL :) Just love him and get use to yelling when you talk to him. Make sure you are facing him when you talk. :) Good Luck!

lol...im sorry i know thats not funny but just tell him that its ok to have hearing loss, some kids have them
he probably just doesnt want oen because it is a sign of becoming old and no grown up ever wants to admit that they are getting old so let him know that you have trouble talking to him since he cant hear
he should understand
i hope all goes well
good luck!

Oh, that is so sad. Is there anyone else in your family that can get through to him? He just doesn't want to take this step. Maybe if he talks to a third party he will consider it. Good Luck!
