I am a Muslim and I believe in Christ Jesus( peace be upon him). Islam holds Jesus (Arabic: عيسى `Īsā) to have been a messenger and a prophet of God. The Qur'an gives him the unique title of the Messiah. According to the Qur'an, Jesus was one of God's most beloved messengers, a precursor to Muhammad, and was sent to guide the Children of Israel.
Some verses from the Qur'an:
And she (Mary) who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our Spirit and made her and her son a sign for the nations.—Qur'an, 21:91
When the angels said, 'O Mary, ALLAH gives thee glad tidings of a son through a word from HIM; his name shall be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honoured in this world and in the next, and of those who are granted nearness to God;
'And he shall speak to the people in the cradle, and when of middle age, and he shall be of the righteous.
She said, 'My Lord, how shall I have a son, when no man has touched me? He said, 'Such is the way of ALLAH. HE creates what HE pleases. When HE decrees a thing HE says to it 'Be,' and it is;" -- Qur'an, Surah 3:38-48
"That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): 'We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them." -Qur'an, 4:156-159
Some sayings of Prohphet Muhammad:
When any human being is born. Satan touches him at both sides of the body with his two fingers, except Jesus, the son of Mary, whom Satan tried to touch but failed, for he touched the placenta-cover instead. Sahih Bukhari 4:54:506
Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (peace be upon him). He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine and abolish jizyah. Allah will cause all religions except Islam to perish. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him. Sunnan Abu Dawud 37:4310

We do not feel we are higher than Christ, pricey. And do not all Christians suppose that within the subsequent existence, we will be higher than we at the moment are? In evaluation to the way in which we're, would possibly not we be LIKE gods then? This is honestly from the Bible. If you fairly care, I can provide you a record of Bible verses that help it. Mormons are Christians considering the fact that--look ahead to it--we suppose in Christ. That's the definition of a Christian, sweetie. We're now not ashamed. You simply are not getting it proper. And are not Christians now not meant to pass judgement on? And but, you're... I did not learn the leisure. It wasn't fairly valued at my time, however will not you be vote casting centered on insurance policies and revel in, now not foolish devout bias?

I am agnostic/deist/stoic.
I prefer Thomas Jefferson's view of Jesus.
Like does he have to be holy and perform miracles just so that we will listen to his message of love and peace? (and we still end up doing just the opposite) Though much of his message isn't exactly new or unique, he does seem to be an amalgamation of the ideal man as espoused by various philosophies and ethics available in his day.
Friedrich Nietzsche had a nice view too, he could be one of Zarathustra's philosopher of a thousand years. The links to eldad9's post gave me another idea. What if Jesus started out like zarathustra? Zarathustra is a being sprung out of friedrich nietzche's imagination, and I don't see why, had it existed under similar conditions of early christianity, can it not grow into its own religion.

Jesus is a just a PROPHET, a Messenger of God, just like Moses, Abraham, David etc. His mission, to fulfill the laws of God to the JEWISH People, and not to the rest of the world.
What the Gospels and Paul have done is they twisted the story and deified Jesus to be God. This is the Most Ridiculous and Attrocious Story ever told on the History of Mankind.
I am a Muslim and believe in Islam brought to the world by the Seal of All Prophets, Muhammad (pbuh).

Just for the reality...
One person answered that early Christians were killed for not recanting their belief in Jesus.
Well, for every single one of them, thousands were later killed by Christians because they wouldn't accept the divinity of Christ - or a particular version of the story.
Early Christianity was a hodge-podge of conflicting doctrines. Each took their views quite seriously, and the results were war, murder, and torture between the groups.
The main Christian tenets we now know exist because their supporters were the biggest, baddest group around. They simply killed off their opponents, destroyed their theological documents, and punished anyone else who dared to question the dominant sect with death.
Not quite a great beginning for a religion supposedly based on love for your fellow man ... but in a nutshell, that's how it happened.

A lot of people in the 1st and 2nd century AD were tortured and killed because they refused to recant; why would they refuse to recant for an imaginary savior? Just a few people could be crazy, but it was a lot of people. Historians have noted the firm conviction of the apostles that they had seen the risen Christ. What other person rose from the dead and still has followers 2,000 years later?

Christian---I can talk to God anytime I want to. I feel safe and secure in Christ. I know I made the right decision to choose Him. To me, there was only 2 decisions to make. Choose Christ or Satan. Because God says you are either for Him or against Him. Or something to that effect. I do not have my Bible at hand.

Jesus was not of the line of David, therefore he could not be the prophesied Messiah. Mary was a Jew, so Jesus was a Jew, but Mary was not of the line of David. Jesus had no earthly Father, so say Christians, therefore Jesus could not claim the line of David on a male line. Joseph was not Jesus' blood father and at that time you had to be of blood to claim an ancestry line.
There are no words recorded as being said by Jesus that he was of Joseph's line......and Joseph disappears from the narrative at a very early date.
If you want the truth.....Ask a Pagan.

Yes I do. My religion is Christianity my denomination is Southern Baptist. Why I believe the way I do. Well its simple I don't want to burn in hell for all eternity. God is a just God, and will punish all sin. There is no way out, unless you have a sacrifice. Jesus is God, and therefore the only way our sins could ever be forgiven. When Jesus died on the cross, he took on the sins of the world, and had to face the infinite wrath of almighty God. Since Jesus is worth more than all of creation, that is why his sacrifice is efficient to free us from what we deserve an eternity in hell. So if that is what Jesus did for me, then I owe him my life. For one has no idea how severe his punishement was on that cross. Jesus wasn't a baby he didn't weep because of any pain from mankind, but what he had to endure from an angry God. It is a great blessing to receieve eternal life, and to have a enormous God on your side that showed his great love to us.

I believe in Jesus Christ because I believe God made the whole universe. I believe EVERYTHING God has said and will ever say, and because Jesus is part of God- I believe. This feeling you get when you know God's on your side, is so.... remarkable- that there is no way to deny that he is God and that Jesus is our Savior.
