Praying for a sick friend to get better isn't working. Praying to hit the lottery don't work either, well maybe that's asking too much.

What's the worse thing that can happen? My friend gets better, or Satan ignores me.

If I am an athiest, then none of this can be harmful, but maybe worth a shot.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Go ahead and give it a shot..God's purpose is greater than
your winning the lottery for sure...and if your sick friend is
of the same mind set as you.....that could be clue to his not
getting better as well....What good would you do for God if
you win the lottery....it's a sin to gamble for money to begin with.....and your sick friend, what is his mind set with prayer?
The two of you praying together for a good cause to
further God's purpose would go a long way to helping
your friend and you....however, being athiest as you described yourself, you honestly couldn't pray to Satan
anyway...in your mind, Satan doesn't exist and you're still messed up! BUT GIVE'M A SHOT...I'M ALMOST
CERTAIN HE IS REAL AND HE IS LISTENING!

Well, you COULD pray to Satan if you wanted to.

However, God does have a PLAN for your life. Sometimes, God doesn't ANSWER prayers the way we want them answered but down the road; we LEARN that God did what was best for us!! Although, at the time; we may not believe that because we are going through it. It's after we get to the OTHER SIDE that we see what God was doing to enrich our lives.

God does everything for His own reasons. And think about this, Satan- the king of EVIL, why would he want to give you anything that's good for you- he hates you. He just wants you to suffer with him in Hell. Also, about the lottery, though it would be nice to win millions of dollars, it's not a need. Besides, God has a plan for you and your friend- He loves you. He always will.

Have you tried praying to god with pure interest of finding him and fasting for a couple of days, in effect denying yourself so that you can see through some of the muck of this world. Why would you want to pray to Satan anyway, he will deceive you and then laugh about it simply saying, well, I LIED.

The worse thing that could happen is as follows:

God answers your prayer, but you never notice

You continue to worship Satan who is an avowed enemy.

You preach satanism to your friend, misleading him as well.
Well,i dont know what could happen after that as God guides whom He wills and misleads whom He wills. But be sure Satan will take more than 'thank you' from you [even though he never did anything in the first place!

You will go to HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Satan can't help you. Only The LORD can. It is the lack of faith, that is the reason why you don't get a respones. If you don't believe in what you are praying how do you expect God to help you? You have to have faith. You have to truly give yourself to God. BELIEVE!!!!!!! and you will receive. The devil has no Good power. He can only make your life worse. It wouldn't do any good. I really truly advise you to seek GOD. All of us make mistakes but God will forgive you if you ask and can change your life FOREVER.

Sure! Get sucked up in all that evil mumbo jumbo--but don't go crying out to God, when your life falls apart, and you're being mentally tormented by every demon in Hell. By the way, if you were a real atheist, why would you be praying to God anyway?

Who are you going to pray to when tragedy strikes your being? Satan won't care, he love to see you suffer. God won't here 'cause you already sold your soul to the devil. Put your strong faith and trust in God and miracles do happen. Don't forget, when evil strikes the innocent; God will always turn it around to be a blessing.
