I think if you're not sure what to get, then you shouldn't get one yet! This is something you'll have for the rest of your life - when people ask about it, do you really want to say that someone on Yahoo suggested it? It should be something personal and meaningful to you that you won't mind on your canvas for the rest of your life.

If I were you I would start with something small and a place where it cant be easily seen. For examle not on ur wrist incase you`ll have trouble at work or so also as a test if yo can handle the pain or not because some people cant tolerate it.
Lately foot tattoos have become quite fashionable but they do hurt quite a lot! Anyway goodluck in choosing a design you like and place you like! Happy Tattooing :)

Why do you want a tattoo? Think of this, if you get a tattoo it will be visible 40 years from now. So, what is it that you think you can put on your body that you would appreciate just as much 40 years from now? Do you think any article of clothing you would want to wear 40 years from now? If you have some moral, standard or belief that you would like to represent, then that may stand the test of time. So, don't go just for decorative, but go for "meaning!." Best of Luck, and .. take your time deciding what, when and if!

Ask yourself why you want one.....and then start looking at the MILLIONS of tattoos posted on line to see if anything moves you. Its your skin it should be something that really moves you in one sense or another. As for all the tattoo haters who post warning here, they bare FULL to the brim with crap...ignore them. How a tattoo looks depends on many factors including HOW YOU TAKE CARE OF IT. So go hav e fun.

I always tell people that their fist tattoo should be small, and in an area where it can be covered for professional or personal reasons. Some people may regret their tattoo also so be careful what you choose. good luck!

Tattoos are very personal, so you are the only one who should make this decision. Think about it long and hard so you do not regret your decision.
And ignore people who say it will look gross when you get old and wrinkly, because EVERYONE will look gross then, not just the tattooed people. :)

Your favorite song lyric or quote would be great, it's simple and small, which is best for a first tattoo.
