My husband twisted his knee in Iraq and it locked...they refused to get him treatment and made him go out on missions for a month. He's home now and just had surgery to remove almost his entire meniscus that was destroyed and should not have been if they hadn't abused him and gave him the treatment he deserved. Their excuse for not giving him treatment was that they felt he was faking his injury to get out of going out over the wire.
My friend's husband is being threatened with an Article 15 because he went to the doctor enstead of showing up for formation for chest pain. The x-ray at the ER showed a nodule on his chest, but they still are threatening the article 15 because they will be damned if a soldier doesn't show up for work.
No. I do not believe the Army cares about it's soldiers. I see it first hand. They are also taking benefits away from vets. I've been reading articles in military times about cuts for benefits to the families too. Nice.

in the event that they only permit people out because of the fact they say that they are able to't take care of it anymore then they could be letting all and sundry out as quickly as they have a bad day at artwork. I understand that he's having a no longer common time yet he desires to bypass by way of the therapy. the army has Psychiatric docs who're knowledgeable to handle PTSD. If he only gets out then he would possibly no longer have the potential to get the therapy that he desires particularly seeing as how the VA is backlogged for as much as a year in many situations. you do no longer % him to wind up being some homeless vet who won't be able to hold down a activity because of the fact he's stricken by PTSD and could't cope with certainty. maximum Civilian Psychiatrists have no clue a thank you to handle a militia affected person who's stricken by PTSD. motivate him to bypass by way of the Counseling presented by making use of the militia. no count if this is desperate that his PTSD is undesirable sufficient then he would be medically discharged that's a hell of lots extra appropriate than being discharged under different than honorable circumstances or with a dishonorable discharge because of the fact he did something stupid. discover a thank you to make him get the help that the army has obtainable!!! look at lots of the Vietnam Vets who're nevertheless coping with PTSD because of the fact the militia did no longer have the counseling in place to handle it. So those vets on no account have been given the counseling that they necessary and nevertheless do no longer understand a thank you to administration.

Probably a REMF because that just isn't going to HAPPEN! THANKS for your SERVICE though!
I suppose that the realization that our soldiers have to realise is that THEY ARE ASSETS and cease being people to the people making THE BIG DECISIONS! Platoon leaders, squad leaders, wing leaders and the rest CARE ABOUT THEIR TROOP and hopefully make the right decisions to complete the MISSION with minimum casualties.
A high level commander does NOT GIVE A RAT's A** about some E-1 through E-3 because you are just the nail that holds the shed together. The NCO's put the nails where they have to be and if a few get bent it just happens.
The military just isn't the "Feel Good" experience of high school or college that has come to be accepted. You do what you are told, don't question unless asked and complete the misson to the best of your ability.
The military has to be a HUGE WAKE UP!

Of course not. They are dispensable, just like the thousands of Iraqi citizens are simply a "cost of doing business" - or, as Donald Rumsfeld once said, 'Stuff Happens". I wonder if Rumsfeld would have the same cavalier attitude if his own sons and daughters were fighting an unjust, unconstitutional, illegal war in Iraq?
I'm 63 years old, and appalled at our government's insensitivity toward such murderous activities. Soldiers are simply pawns in a giant killing game. -RKO- 04/21/07

This is BS. That whole article is BS. It's not even a creditable source.
FACT:
The Army won't even deploy you with a cavity.
Did you know some lady in New Hampshire gave birth to a 4lb 5oz monkey?
She did!
(that's about the same credibility as your source)

When I came back from Iraq, my mom had to quit her job to help get me benefits I was promised.
These people can throw as many parades and buy as many red white and blue bumper stickers as they want, but they might as well write "Better you, than me" on the back of their cars.

I would go with the Medical Officers professional opinion.
If everyone that was so concerned, enlisted, it would ease the burden on those already in combat.

I'd say the army probably does.
Not so sure about the current administration, however.
