As silly as it may sound, one of the best workouts for calves is to stand on your tiptoes for thirty seconds. Do this in reps.. I once went for a personal training session and that was the trainers advice.

one legged calf raises. do like this . 10 for one leg,10for other then do 9times .8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 switching leg to leg with no resting. also if you have something to stand on like a board or such where your heel can drop lower that toes you get more flex in calves.also you can hold on to door way or whatever for balance. you can do them whenever and ever day if you like. some people say you can't but runners run every day and their calves get flexed day in and day out.

use an elliptical machine on a high level and the more resistance the better....at least 30 min to 45min will be best.

calf rises work really good, if you don't know what those are it's basicly just rising on to your toes and back down.
