It isn't known. People might have some ideas but they would ljust be speculation. I assume those missing years are not significant to his message and mission and that is why the gospel writers were silent.

Now to the question: Jesus is going to Die and become the "High Priest " for all who believe,Jesus had to go by the Law,That God had for all High Priest,Miniuem age 30 Yrs.
Retire at 60 Yrs,God placed Himself under His Own Law.

Jesus was keeping a low profile, waiting for his time to come, living in the only place on earth from which nobody ever expected Messiah to come ... Nazareth.

I don't have a reference for this and I'm not positive, but I believe that I have heard that around his last days on earth he was in the early 30s, in human years, that is.

I would assume growing up, going to Temple, learning the craft of carpentry from His step father Joseph.

Probably went to India to get spiritual knowledge!
As his instructions do not differ from the genuine teachers and avatars[incarnations of God] there.
These important years in the life of an important personality shouldn't be a mystery.In India,most saints have their history recorded in writing,as every actions and words of a saint should be perfect.,full of love and devotion to God.Such saints get knowledge by approaching a spiritual master,and enquire from him submissively.He then vows to obey him,in order to get free from this miserable material world,and return to the spiritual world,free of anxiety.
The early Christians lived like the saints of India,in communities,were vegetarians and respected animals and plants.They also preached by example or travelled long distances to spread the word.
When the Roman Emperors decided to make it a state religion,it got spoiled,just like milk touched by the lips of a snake,and forced people to convert,killing all resistants.The Popes were just supervising this horror,as they were just serving these terrorists!Such facts can be verified as they have been recorded in history,and cannot be denied.Recently the Pope asked forgiveness for having collaborated with nazis,and protect pedophile priests.
Only fools and hypocrites follow such organisations.One should search a bonafide spiritual guide,in order to succeed in spiritual life.God will send you one if you're ready to accept one.Otherwise,you will go on with false religion,and end up reincarnating in lower species-dog,cat,lion etc- as God is merciful and provide the necessary teeth to tear apart the bodies of animals!
The last saint to be on this planet is Srila Prabhupada,who gave example and taught just like Jesus,and now his true disciples are creating farms to protect cows,promote organic agriculture[poisons should not be spread on veg and fruits!]build temples,and spread the good news by all means,including the web.And now,millions are following in Russia,USA,India,Africa,South America,as Krishna is predicted to reign all over the world,in peace and love!
Those who persecute such people gets very bad reactions[diseases/accidents/poverty]and reincarnate in lower species,even though they claim to be great followers of religion!
