One exercise that might help is to get your son to pick up small objects with his toes...try matchboxes and also pencils...

If the previous response, is indeed valid, i.e., picking up small objects with one's toes, and I believe it may be, then, Dr. Scholl's exercise sandals would help. To walk in Dr. Scholl's exercise sandals, one must retain the sandals, with their toes, with every step.

However, Dr. Scholl's no longer make exercise sandals for males. I have entered a question, in this forum, asking if there is a comparable product by another manufacturer.

I had the same problem as a kid, have him pick up marbles with his toes, it worked for me, and now I am deadly at pinchin folks with my toes, don't mess with me..........

I really did have flat feet as a kid & this did work for me, this was back in the 60's, they might have a newer cure these days
