No, a married person isn't the only one who can commit adultery. There must be a married person involved, but if a person is single and sleeping with a married person, that's adultery.
As far as "to lust" means... If you don't know that, you're too young to worry about it.

Maybe the man is a married man. That way it would be adultery.

Here he is talking about just looking not touching. A lot of women get jealous when their husbands stare at a beautiful woman. And a man will say...I can look if I don't touch. But this scripture is telling all men...you cannot even look at her that way. ...like you wonder how she would be in bed ..or naked...
He said you will be accused by God of adultery in your heart.
And if you entertain the idea the next step would be opportunity.
It is better to make a covenant with your eyes and never lust after a woman but look away as soon as you catch yourself.

Hi.

Well lets look at the scripture again:

(Matthew 5:27-28) . . . “YOU heard that it was said, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to YOU that everyone that keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

See that Jesus was talking about Adultery to start with.... that would mean he was talking about a married man. So if a married man has thoughts about someone other than his wife.... he is commiting adultery with her in his heart....

Consider the audience. He is speaking to married men. A married man who sleeps with a woman not his wife, commits adultery. "To lust" means to look at a woman with sexual desire. Jesus claims that to do so is to commit adultery "in your heart." But note that everything in this sermon is hyperbole. He does not mean that one should literally pluck out his eye or cut off his hand. It is, after all, the nature of men to think lustful thoughts, as that is how they are constructed. As long as they do not act on them, they have done no wrong.

Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

I think it means that if you look upon a woman (ANY WOMAN except your wife) with lust, then YOU are committing adultery in your heart.. in otherwords.. get rid of your porn and stop looking at women as sex objects.

We are to have one husband, or wife in this life, being in a sexual relationship with anyone before or after your married is adultery because you are cheating on that one person, but Jesus does give some loop holes for divorce

Greek: epithumeo {ep-ee-thoo-meh'-o}
Meaning: 1) to turn upon a thing 2) to have a desire for, long for, to desire 3) to lust after, covet 3a) of those who seek things forbidden

If you are longing after a married woman it's probably not because you want her to bake you some cookies.

It was implied that it was a married woman or a married man that was doing the lusting.

Adultery is sex with some one else other than your spouse {Husband or Wife}. Fornication is sex before you get married. Lust is looking on something whether it be a woman or a cheeseburger, and wanting it. It pertains to controlling our natural urges to follow after fleshly wants and desires. Kind of like when we ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Lust is based in fear. Which is opposite of Faith. Fear of not ever getting a woman, or a cheeseburger (which is worse than not getting a woman...LOL) He wants us to control our flesh through fasting and prayer. Believe me when you fast, it takes alot of prayer. Our flesh continuously naturally demands to be satisfied. It wants to be master over our souls (mind, will, and emotions). Ever since we were lied to in the Garden in which we were created to take care of, we have stopped living with God and walking with him in the cool of the day to walking and living with him (if we so choose) in the heat and cold to which we have been cast out to. Jesus is Love and perfect Love casts out all fear. He is Lord and Savior over all. The Devil blew his chance and is judged forever. Jesus is our way home. The Devil will never go home. So he couldn't care less if you sin. He doesn't want anyone to go to heaven because he knows how wonderful it is. Heaven is living in the presence of Jesus. Hell is living without his presence. Jesus I ask you to bless this person in a deeper and more intimate understanding of you. I ask you to inseminate this person's heart with your love and presence. I ask you Holy Spirit to saturate this person with your presence and fill this person to overflowing continuously. I thank you in advance for answered prayer. As always may this person know that your timing is perfect and this prayer will be answered in your time and way. Thank you again Lord Jesus.
