He has owed me this money for months, almost $1000 and keeps telling me he will get the money to me when his student loan comes in, but this has been going on for months now, and he has since moved out. Currently he won't respond to me no matter how i get into touch with him. He has been spending thousands of dollars supposedly on credit cars and his parents just bought him and expensive sports car. His parents live in the neighborhood, and I think he will never give me my money so I think my last option is to call his parents and tell him the situation. Should I contact his parents or will this just make an even worse situation where I will still never see my money.

It can't hurt to do that. All they can say is we don't care, in which case your only option is to make a claim with the Court and pursue the money though, with the expense of legal representatives, it would not be worth it to do. I'd say go for it, call/see his parents and explain the situation and see what their response is, they may be able to convince him to sort it out or even pay it themselves, or could say go away but hey,m least you know you tried.

Since you're both students...YES I would call his parents up and let them know he is avoiding you at every turn...and it has been months of him telling you he will repay you..but yet..you havn't rec'd one cent. LEt them know it's $1000.00...it's not like it's only a few bucks..and you would really appreciate it if they could speak to him and let you know When he will definately be repaying this back to you* Hopefully they will do that for you and hopefully one way or another you are repaid..either by him or if his parents choose to pay it off for him. Also I would mention to them, that you're giving him another week to respond to when he is definately repaying you back or you have no choice but to take him to court. It's not something you want to go through but you seriously need that money back..You are a student and have things You need to pay*
GOODLUCK*

I'd call his folks first and very calmly explain the situation. Maybe they'll be willing to pay you back and end the problem. Otherwise, your only resort is small claims court.

I doubt you will ever see your money..If you decide to see the parents take proof he owes you cause he will more then likely turn the whole story around on you....Good Luck~

Talk to his parents about it and see if they can pressure him in to be the responsible adult he is supposed to be and pay you back. But don't expect them to pay you back cause they are not responsible for his actions anymore. If they get irrate or refuse to do it then take him to small claims court for it.

Legally he owes you money therefore I would ring his parents and explain the situation to them. They could probably afford to pay you back.

Don't involve his parents, they have nothing to do with this. Take him to small claims court.

3 options here. 1) - Tell his parents (they may tell you too bad).

2) - Sue him(small claims court)

3) - Threaten to kick his butt!!!
