it could be that your dog is just not intrested in toys.
but my uncle also got a rescued dog and his dog doesn't play because it was trained not to....before the dog was rescued it was punished for playing. so he is trying to get his dog use to playing...it may just take a while.

I had a Yorkie who would not play with toys. As a young pup he would then he just never bothered. If he wanted to play, he'd just run w/the cats or other dogs. Also, I have an 11 year old Dalmation and she does not play with the toys at all!

i don't know how long you've had him but if you got him when he was older he may never have learned how to play. he is a rescue so there is no way of knowing really. give him a little more time to adapt and learn and socialize him as much as you can.

My friend has a 3 year old chi who won't play with toys, I guess they are like kids, they just outgrow them.

my bichon is 11 yrs...she never really played with her toys exect for bones ....you can always ask your vet....
