The sins of the fathers can go on for generations if each father teaches hate from one generation to another and the son's follow their fathers belief. That is exactly what is going on in the world today with all of the fighting and hatred.

Sure. Do it in front of the Dad while you are at it.

The way I see it the sins come home to the children through the Father's raising of the children. If you have children you will already notice that they start to emulate you early. As each generation grow up they of course say "I will never do this to my child." In this way the sins lessen over time.

But, you still make a valid thought. If you are in a position of "power" you may decide to exercise this power over my child. Not to hire him or hire him and give him the crappy jobs hours or what ever.

No it means all his descendants unto the 7th generation will go to Hell if he was a sinner.

And even though he repents, if an anscestor fewer than 7 generations ago was a sinner, he himself will go to Hell.

God added this rule in the time of the prophet Jimmy cause too many people were getting into heaven.

Often times there is a chain reaction to our behavior. It is possible that what we do today can effect future generations. 7 was a perfect number. Genesis said God created the Heavens and Earth and all things in it and rested on the 7th day.
The quote you have just means that your sin today can reverberate throughout many generations.

I suppose if you believe that two wrongs make a right then go right ahead and slap his children but if you would rather take the higher moral ground why not try forgiving the one who offended you and be the bigger man? Just a thought.

It means a perpetuation of the negative results of the crime.Such as how the west has behaved to Arabs, the initial injustice will continue until the 7th generation. Meaning terrorism shall continue through seven generations, i.e., the hate will continue for seven generations.

Mortal man put that in there, an awful phrase from a tribalistic time of endless revenge cycles, not a just concept at all; sometimes someone is the opposite of their father-a criminal father with a police detective son, for instance.

I truly don't believe you are understanding the verse. Sins, which we all have, will pass through our Destiny, or Lives, unknowing and it will effect someone in your family later on in life. I'm sure you have heard of the saying, " What goes around, come around', well, you just do unto others kindly, just like you wish they would do unto you, and later on this will be a gift exceedingly to one of you relatives. Wow !! May God Bless you.......

I think your missing the point of this.... first of all sin has built in consequences or judgment so to speak... for example if I smoke and someone breathes in that smoke my sin has caused them harm even tho it wasn't there sin to begin with... you see my point?so when God talks about sin visiting the 7th generation of children he is not necessarily talking about punishing those kids for there fathers transgressions...
for example.. I myself am suffering for very bad choices my parents made.... but that is not God punishing me...
hope that helped..

God bless
