Believe it or not, Eagle, I do feel your pain and your frustration.
Now imagine the frustration on the other side.
Can you explain to me what water feels like when it slides against your skin? I've never smelled a rose, could you tell me what it smells like? What does a grilled cheese sandwich taste lilke?
See, it's kind of hard to explain an experience to someone who hasn't felt it, much less to someone who doesn't believe in it. It would be easier to bring you to the lake and let you feel the water for yourself, or give you a rose to smell, or make you a grilled cheese sandwich.
It's a little harder to give you God.
Of course, I can sense the frustration people feel with sanctimony. The problem is, there really isn't much of a way to even try to tell you about my experience of knowing God without coming off as "sanctimonious". If there is a way to do that, I wish you would tell me, because, believe me when I say, Eagle, nothing would make me happier than to embrace a new Child of God into the family.
And please, don't EVER feel guilty about asking these questions. No matter how busy I am, I will always make time to try to answer anyone who asks me quesitons about why I believe as I do.
I do hope you find what you are searching for, Eagle, and if it is not too sanctimonious, may God bless you.

To start, I'm an Atheist. I want that to be perfectly clear. Then, I'd like to ask: #1. If this is a tired question, why do you continue to look for an answer? #2. Of what constructive use are words like "friggin, pontificate, proselytizing, [brand of] crazy, sanctimony"? #3. If you're in harmony with who you are (as I am with myself) why should this frustrate you?
One last remark, while Log!k gave us a copious lesson (?) I'd suggest looking into ANTI-MATTER. I don't expect anyone, believers or non-believers to comprehend this. But consider: Science is God. God is Science. Science evolves, religion is immutable. That is the ROOT of the conflict.
Edit: angeltress gave a remarkably civil, & thoughtful answer.

A suit is proof there is a taylor. A painting is proof there is an artist.A book is proof of an author. It's as simple as that. There are books about evolution with many pages- it takes many pages to try to explain the illogical. The logical can be explained simply.
Would you believe it if i told you that my computer was not made by anybody, but that it just created itself through an evolutionarry process? Well let me tell you, you might as well believe my computer was not made by anybody, because the DNA inside every living cell is way more complex than any computer- everything about DNA and cells has an obvious design and purpose. Yet nobody believes that my computer has no maker, but people allow themselves to believe that living things had no maker. There is nothing as miraculous as what the atheists believe.

Bob isn't ideal yet Bob's answer is totally per the present questioning in quantum mechanics that the mere remark variations the right results of particular experiments. between the biggest problems with information is that the overall public of folk that use them don't have a clue about information. you're saying "we" have carried out statistical sorting out. in case you've been in touch as your use of the time period "we" shows the position are your effects? because you've not written your effects contained in the way a statistician might want to i'm suggesting you're utilising the time period "we" to recommend contributors of the human race of that you're also a member, or perchance you're utilising "we" to recommend you're making a distinction between those who trust in a prayer answering God and those who do not and also you're which include your self contained in the latter crew. both way, you're making mere assertions that are literally not supported by genuine information. Your so-referred to as attempt is resembling a documentary I once referred to the position countless religious human beings were praying for particular terminally ill human beings. This grow to be a television stunt that had no medical importance i'm afraid. For an attempt to be scientifically valid you would possibly want to be able to regulate all of your variables and this grow to be no longer something like a managed ecosystem.

I DARE YOU TO READ THIS!
Eagleflyer, I am truly sorry that you feel this way. I like your name.
I can't tell you that I just believe, you wont take that answer because that is not what you want to hear. You want to hear something in particular. I'm not sure what it is but, I do know that I have heard many testimonies, stories if you will, of how others came to believe. And in each 'story' there was one thing that happened.......they wanted to know the Truth. The Bible says that God is Love, Truth, Patience, Life and so on for Everything that is Good. He is Light.
Only God can give you the revelation of something, just like when you were learning in school. If there was something that you had to learn and you just knew that if you didn't learn it you would fail a test or a grade or something. And so you searched and you studied and you did it over and over and over again.............. until that one day. You finally got it! It was like a light went on in your head, and your eyes were opened and the wool was pulled from your face so that YOU KNEW! And there it was. The answer. I this case You want to know is God real? Now I don't know if you learned like that but I know that is how I learned some things. For some people they knew when they are small that God is real. But I know so many people are in the same position as you. I am 27 but I know I can tell you God is real. The only way that I can tell you to how to know is to study and search the Bible and do it over and over again. But one thing the bible says to do is to pray. Pray unceasingly, and not like the pagans who prayed in public for attention, God rewards in the open, those who pray in secret. He says go into your closet (in some cases a closet is a closet, but what he really means is to pray in your heart). If you really want to know, ask Him. You don't have to be in a closet, or at church. You just have to be desperate to know the truth. If it is true that He is the Truth, then you are seeking Him. God is the one and only one who can tell you or give you what you really want to hear.
So now I dare you, if you are the daring type, to try for as long as it takes to find the Truth. If you choose not to try, that's your choice. But the reward will be more than anything you ever dreamed. Such joy you have never known! I hope in the future that you would let someone know how things are going. And don't worry about how busy people are when they are in this questioning site. They are here because they want to and help people like you. And me for that matter. I hope this helps. My name is Tobi and my call sign is Me. Hopefully you can let Me know something.

It's something that you have to believe in your heart.
No one can "prove" God's existence to you when all you're trying to do is oppose the evidence you're handed.
I'm not a biblical scholar, just a firm believer who finds answers to these type of questions from what I was taught in my childhood days of Sunday School.
It's amazing how something that seems so simple to someone can cause so much confusion to another. The only advice I have is to study and learn God's teachings and after that...you either believe it or you don't.

Quantum theory proves the existence of God.
When subatomic particles are studied we find that there is a problem with our understanding of the universe. Experiments in one lab are different than experiments in another lab. They are affected by the observers of the experiment. The more you study, you find out that in order for our universe to exist, it must be observed. Thus, an observer outside the universe must look at it in order for it to exist. If the observer ceases to look, we cease to exist. Quantum physics is astonishing. The observer can affect the universe by thought, consciousness. If you think I am a fool, do some research. I think you will be surprised, the scientists were.
**What a surprise, provide scientific proof for the existence of God and get thumbs down.

Hey, ain't no bother!
Hello!
Only GOD can reveal HIMSELF to a Human Being.
Once HE does this, then atleast YOU KNOW HE is REAL!
(dosen't help much, huh?)
It's the Truth.
Nobody can prove GOD Exist, even after your Saved.
Just Keep on Seeking the Truth (GOD) and HE will let YOU know HE is real.
That is how it works.
Hope this helps.
Ditto..........

I don't believe that God exist, I know. I know because when I did not believe, something happened in my presence because of a prayer that I made to a God I thought was not there. And someone came back to life who was dead. You may not believe me, but it is true. I prayed for her because she believed and I said "I don't know if you are there or not, but if you are please help her.. " and He did. I have been a Christian since that day.

We know, that we know, that we know. Haven't you ever felt such a strong feeling in your heart that, no-one could argue with you? GOD IS The ultimate for us . We don't have to prove a thing to you. Open up the windows of your heart, it's OK. GOD WILL BLESS YOU, IF YOU LET HIM.
