Ordinarily you should ONLY use the equivalent of a feather duster. If you have to be more aggressive in cleaning a gooey mess try scraping only the goo with a knife. Do not touch the speaker cone with the knife. Then apply a little water with a small brush to the mess itself. Do not get any on the speaker cone. Then rub just the gooey spot with a soft cloth. Try to hold the cone in place as you do this. If you have metal cones you do not need to worry as much about getting water on the cone itself.

Hi. A very unusual question ! How would they get dirty? If they are just dusty ,use a feather duster but be careful you don't poke them with the duster.Another way is to gently vacuum them with a low power vacuum cleaner with reduced suction .It also depends on what material the cones are made of to safely try these methods.
cheers.
