Do baby chicks sing?

We just brought home three week old chicks from the feed store and they are happy and cozy and warm and I could swear I just heard one of them singing--not peeping (they do a lot of that) but singing softly, like a canary almost. Do chicks sing?

I raised an awful lot of chicks & don't reconise the reference - I might reconise the SOUND but not the way you describe it. The quiet braaack Braack of a grown hen is often refered to as singing but not what you are talking about.....
