He has a very long way to go to catch up to Jeff in that category.

Tony made those comments because he was mad and frustrated. He was asked about it last night and said that he still has a few more years of racing in him and he said he has too many bills to pay. Seriously what bills can a multi millionaire have? I mean he makes a ton of money every year and it's not like he doesnt get stuff for free because he does because his sponsors give it to him. I think that people are looking at Tony differently now because he said that which means that he might be giving up on his racing career which alot of fans thought that he would never do since he is the type of person who never gives up. Then after the race he didnt want to talk to the media which I respect because he didnt' want to say something he might regret. As for him putting so much pressure on himself to win and winning so much last year and not this year, it's understandable but it's not the end of the world. Now he know's how Jeff Gordon feels after he had all those 2nd and 3rd place finishes and had all the opportunities to win and he didn't get them and he finally got a win. Look at the year Tony won all those races, like 6 in a row or something, and this year he hasn't won, I think he will get his chance but he has to be patient, which I know he doesn't have alot of. I don't know how much Tony is hated because he is way to aggressive at some points. I am a Jeff Gordon fan, and the only reason why he is hated is because he is so good and everyone wants his success.

I don't hate anyone and the drivers I dislike the most are those that can't drive and just wreck people (i.e Robby Gordon, Ryan Newman, etc.) While I may not like Jr and Tony it is only because they are competitive and a threat to beat my driver each week.
As for not liking a whiney driver...if you don't like a driver because they whine then you don't like any drivers, since they all whine (even Jr). When they put a microphone in front of these drivers right after they get out of the car and ask for their opinion if they are honest many consider that whining. I just look at it as a "heat of the moment" or a drivers honest opinion.

I am getting tired of the "Who is the most hated driver" crap. First, why do we have to "hate" any driver? They are all part of the NASCAR experience. If we removed every driver that had a "hate" following, there woudn't be a race. Second, the people who keep saying Jeff (or any other driver) is the most hated obviously haven't been to an actual race. There are thousands of Jeff fans, Stewart (ugh) fans, Sr. and Jr. fans and yes, even Waltrip fans. It is, however, interesting to note how Ricky Craven reacted when he rode with Jeff and experienced what Jeff has to put up with all the time. I think it says Jeff is a lot tougher than many of you think (as he 'cries' all the way to the bank) and that Tony has to decide if this is what he wants to put up with the rest of his career and toughen up. It does seem pretty juvenile that grown adults can't be better role models for younger fans than to boo and throw things.

i hate jeff gordon just as much as the next guy, but actually jeff isn't the most hated driver, that would be kurt busch, he was voted most hated "sports figure" for 2006, thats in ALL sports... and i use to hate Tony too, back when he was an arrogant punk, but he has grown up alot the past few years.
GO BOBBY 43!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that is possible. Jeff Gordon is the most hated driver in NASCAR. Tony was frustrated and said what was on his mind. I personally think he partially said it because he has not won this season, though he runs well early in races. I think this is more about his team and trying to motivate them more than anything. I think Stewart needs to recognize that he used to be the Bad Boy of Nascar, but he isn't anymore. Stewart should stop worrying about the fans and worry more about his car. I think it's ironic that the Chevys are dominating this year and he has not won a single race.

I cant belive 20 would be upset that he got booed. That just shows how passionate the fans are. Im a 48 fan since Daytona his rookie year. I cant tell you how much 24 and and 48 are booed at Dover for the past 3yrs ive been there. He was used to being cheered. Its all part of the game. Deal Tony.
I agree he whines and never takes responsiblity when he wrecks on his own accord. THe other driver always caused it!
