Based on the data in your question, you've got a frozen item that you want to raise the temperature from perhaps -15 °C to around 20 °C. While this is 35 C°, there is a substantial difference in heat requirements above and below freezing.

The link below provides the specific heat of various food products. It provides both english and SI units both above and below freezing. Unfortunately the list is far more detailed that just "steak".

Basically this information will allow you to compute the heat required (in kilo-Joules or kilocalories) to raise the food temperature.

You'll want to have uniform air flow around the food product. Another factor will be the room size and the heat source. Think about it. If you had a 10 kg turkey in a tiny closet, you could effectively "air condition" the room with the frozen bird.

If this is for a school science project, your teacher will "eat up" the specific heat data from the web site listed below.

Good luck.

I think you need a little more control than just "ROOM TEMP". Be a little more specific. Also you will need to indicate weither it was on a flat surface with full contact with the steak, as the surface will at as a radiator and draw the heat to the steak. And most of all don't plan on eating it. It is not recommend to thaw any food for eating at room temperature. This allow for the growth of harmful bacteria.
