YES! Red wine and chocolate.......heavenly. Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Bordeaux, Shiraz, Merlot...... all fine, depending on what you like. I am assuming this chocolate fudge cake is super rich... so perhaps either extreme - a dry, tart, Merlot or a super smooth, Cabernet to counter-balance the chocolate fudge cake - if the frosting is thick, sweet or if the cake is dense in texture.
You also asked what other kind of beverage would go.
You can also try coffee drinks - Coffee with either Kahlua, Baileys, Brandy, Creme de Cacao, or try something else mixed with coffee...... (as this compliments chocolate, too --- a Frambois, raspberry liqueur; a Frangelico, which is a hazelnut liqueur, Amaretto (almond), or Grand Marnier (orange)..... because all these things go well with chocolate and coffee goes well with chocolate, so these are nice compliments.... even creme de menthe (if you like chocolate and mint together!).

I deal in wine, yes chocolate and wine do mix incredibly, they are tasty and creates more flavor and compliments the notes within the bottle. I would try a white Bordeux, or there are desert wines call a wine retailer dont get to brave but have fun, wine is very tempermental to climate, etc.... I would not say a merlot, a cab, or better yet an Amorone or a meritage, even malbec (malbec grape) I could give 100 names but find a nice wine shop, get recommendations than shoot to meijer buy the same bottle recommended its way cheaper have fun. life is good explore you and your palate and you will love what your mouth creates with flavors, go for it!

You've got me with both. Any chocolate, any wine, perfect combination.
Specific wines: "sticky"s such as anything noble, like a Noble Riesling - luscious.
sweet dessert wines, such as Spatlese Lexia
fortifieds are great here, too - e.g. vintage and tawny ports, muscat, liqueur muscat
any red that you like personally is great.
One reason many of you may not recognise some of the wine types is that they are AUSTRALIAN - yes, I'm an Aussie (pronounced Ozzee) and we make beautiful, reliable and value-for-money wines that contain the grapes they say. We generally have varietal wines, even if they are blended, rather than regional names, which may be styles, irrespective of the grapes used.

Port wine goes great with Chocolate.
A sweet wine like Eiswein (Ice wine) would also be a nice pairing.

Yes, but it needs to be a deep, full red for the best pairing. A Cabernet or Merlot would be best, and the darker the chocolate the better the match.

try dressing up in red and brown get red punch get a LOT of chocolate like a choco fountain with cherry s and strawberry s brownies have a contest to see who can eat the most chocolate play chocolate songs put some Halloween stuff around ur house wear spooky dresses or dress up as candy bars have dead people around the house dim the lights make some signs that have pictures of dead people and chocolate wrappers beside them hope this helps :)
