koolaid is the best thing for that, me and my sisters used to do that all the time. And it comes in better colors than food dye

You might be able to get a slight tint on your hair. But it will make your hair like straw. If you really want to go a lot lighter you can get some bleach or some hair product that strips color and then blonde hair dye. (should cost you about 15$ at walgreen or CVS). On the other hand your might be able to go 2 shades up at the most with just color and no bleach or lighting product. So you might be able to pull off something like golden brown maybe.

Nah. it will wash out within a few weeks, if not sooner.
Koolaid effects the pigment more, I would suggest using that, like the first answer said.
Another thing you could do would be to go to the store and buy these Loreal cans. Its this mouse you put on your hair for like 20min and your hair stays the color for a month or so.

yes and no.. It can cause an alteration in your color and it will not be the same for a while but eventually if you dont dye it permantely it will come back to normal.
