There are 6,800 known languages spoken in the 200 countries of the world. 2,261 have writing systems (the others are only spoken)

I think it is in the region of 2 000. Many of these have very few speakers though and will die when their speakers die. The descendants of such people often adopt other languages since they live in communities where other languages dominate.

I'm sure it's hundreds of thousands if not millions, including languages in math, computer programming, etc.

its really impossible to know....everyday people discover new tribes in Africa and South America and even part of Asia and Austrailia....and each tribe has their own language so there is really no way to know
