If I were you, I 'd dump the bird in the bin instanter. Apart from generally being wick with fleas, pigeons carry a number of nasty diseases. Although the bugger is dead, gawd knows what you could acquire from its blood.
Do you know how to pluck a pigeon? Do you know whether a pigeon should be bled; hung or anything else? Believe me, I'm a trained chef, but any roadkill animal - even a rabbit, that I am given is dispatched immediately to my butcher for a decision as to whether it can be used.
Butchers butcher, and Chefs cook. We both have cross-knowledge of each others crafts, but you'll get a better meal if my butcher hangs and bones the meat and then gives it to me to prepare and cook, than you would if he cooked it. As a chef, I will allow nothing meaty in my kitchen unless it is vouched for by the expert - a butcher.
Ditch the bird, now, and check the puss for fleas.

Fried Pickled Pigeon
1 excellent pigeon, for dining
onion shreds
mashed garlic
ginger shreds
gourmet powder
salt
sugar
powdered licorice root
ginger powder
1. Soak the pigeon in hot water for a while, then depilate it, remove the intestines, and clean it.
2. Mix up the onion shreds, mashed garlic, ginger shreds, powdered licorice root. Then seal them together with gourmet powder, sugar, salt in a jar to pickle for 1 hour or so.
3. Coat the pigeon with shortening liquid, after it is dry, fry it in a frying pot until done. When it looks scarlet, place it in a dish.
4. Get ready a small dish of Mongolian seasoning.

Place 30g of cornflakes in a bowl
Sprinkle lightly with sugar
Top with ice-cold semi-skimmed milk
Enjoy immediately using a spoon (or a fork if you're thick/hungover) before sogginess takes hold.

Keep a close eye on your cat! Pigeons have many diseases that can cause severe problems in cats! especially bronchial diseases and infections. As far as the bird is concerned... newspaper and a trash can.
