you can only gain weight - muscle.
to lose weight you have to do cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50 min and do light weight training.

In my opinion, I'd think you'd have to do other exercises as well. Sure losing water weight will help you lose about 10 lbs but crunches will tighted up an area and put on muscle. Sometimes muscle puts on weight.

No- Cardiovascular exercises (things that get your heart rate up) like running, swimming, brisk walking, etc. are needed to burn fat. Also, you cannot lose weight if you are eating more calories than you are using. Crunches alone won't do the trick. Sorry.

probably not. to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume. so unless you do 1,000 crunches a day you will probably not lose any weight at all.

To lose weight you really need to do cardio and follow pay atention to your eating habits.
