I am almost 58 yrs. old, and I've never had that said to me, BUT , if it were said, even in my childhood, I would say, NOPE ! You are talking about some one else ! All my life I've known WE would live forever. .Just took me a moment to realize what was integrated in that. Knowledge is REAL good !!!

This morning. A group of "christians" came knocking on my door this morning at 8 am to tell me about "the great word of jesus". Pissed me off because today is my only day off to sleep in and the only reason I opened the door is because my dog would just keep barking until they left. I open the door and they start talking so I tell them I'm not interested and start to shut the door. This woman put her foot in the jam to stop me and said if I didn't listen to her and join them that I was going to hell so I told her I'm an atheist and nothing she said was going to change my mind. Well her and the other woman made the sign of the cross and basically ran to their car. Good times.

Just about anytime I meet, talk or discuss anything with anyone who is holds "orthodox views" (Christian, Jew, Muslim, etc) that remotely relates to their preconceived notions.

I have lost count of the number of times this has been said to me during my life; and even without the person I am talking to having to say it, I can 'read it in their eyes.'

The part of the experience that I enjoy best is when I confront their preconceived notions by asking them to consider the possiblity that we are already living in hell, and one of our real purposes in to 'convert' this hell into 'a heaven', and not to necessarily convert people to a religion or religious doctrine per se.

Regards,

Bryan

Someone at work told me that today but it was in jest - they know I don't believe in hell.

Probably earlier today. It happens at least once per day. I'm so used to it that I tune it out.
