Someone I met at work today told me that he feeds his dog two raw eggs every morning with his normal food. Is it safe and healthy to do that?

Just some details, I've got a 4 month old lab, but I'm not sure if I should feed him raw eggs... I feed him Science Diet Lamb Meal and Rice Recipe Large Breed Puppy.

Yes it is perfectly fine to give dogs raw eggs, although they shouldn't have them more then once or twice a week.
It will not cause a deficiency of any kind if you feed the entire egg (white & yolk) and it will not make your dog sick.
Science Diet is NOT a good food. It is nothing more then a high priced cheap filler filled supermarket food. It contains way too much grain and by products...you can feed a much better quality food for the same or cheaper price that will be much healthier & better for your dog.
Some good choices are:
Canidae, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, Wellness, Innova, Solid Gold,Premium Edge just to name a few

Yes, it is ok to give a dog a raw egg. It doesn't hurt them. Most people who feed a raw diet feed at least one raw egg a week complete with shell. If giving a raw egg grosses you out then boil it, scramble it,poach it before feeding.

Yes it is. They're included in the raw BARF patties i give my dogs everyday (including shell) and they're fine. Provides lots of calcium and protein. It's also great for the skin and coat.
The key is don't overdo it (once/week or so is prob sufficient) and remember that eggs can be a source of allergy (as can many other ingredients).
But many dogs fed commercial dog foods all their lives need slow transition into raw foods as their bodies aren't used to them yet.

It's fine to feed dogs raw eggs. One of our puppies was ill and lost a lot of weight - vet sorted him out but said for us to feed him raw eggs, mixed in with his food.

We had a rescue Great Dane and the vet said to include raw eggs in her diet. She loved it. She only lived about 6 weeks, but she was very happy and well fed the last six weeks of her life.

Raw eggs can cause salmonella poisoning in dogs. Dogs have a shorter digestive tract than humans and are not as likely to suffer from food poisoning, but it is still possible.
But the vet did tell my dad to feed his dog raw eggs to help with weight gain

Its not just unsafe, but dangerous.
Food that is not cooked all the way threw is a potential carrier of a food bourn illness.
As a rule of thumb, food should be brought to an internal temperature of 165°F before it is served. This kills the germs, the length of time the food is at this temp. will determine how much it is cooked through i.e. well, medium well, medium, rare.
Don't feed any raw food to animals or humans!
