The whole country is a settlement built on privately-owned Palestinian land. The state owne most of the land and there is no private owned land by no one. People rent the land from the state. Its a communist way of owning land.

All of Israel was initially built on privately owned Palestinian land. Now Israel defies hundreds of UN resolutions and scorn from countries around the world and continues to build on land that belongs to others. Old habits are hard to change. Not only do they build these settlements on land of Palestinians, but once they are built the Palestinians are not even permitted to go near them without being killed. Kind of like your neighbor building a small house in your backyard and then firing upon you when you get close. Unfathomable, right? This is what happening to Palestinian families. That is, the ones who are left after the needless ethnic cleansing (murder) and jailing of innocent Palestinians. And yet they have the nerve to call them the terrorists. Go figure.

its OK to have your own country but its not OK to kill someone then stick a flag on his land and say I was here first and you were not (most Israelis came from Europe and god knows where)

First, Palestine was NEVER a country. ANYONE who lived in the area were called Palestinians (prior 1948)
There is no proof that the people who lived there prior 1948 actually OWNED a piece of land.
The British were in charge at that time, so ask the British government.
You guys should get it right once and for all. Neither the Bible nor the Koran EVER mentioned the name "Palestine". If so, show me where !

Only 40%??? I think those numbers in truthful reality are much much much much higher. I think its appaling!

This is rebuttle to Amanda's comment....
You want to face facts or just rattle on...
Your right the jews dont put bombs on planes....They just blow up palestinians and their children...
Dont forget something the land they put their flag and call home is layered with the blood of innocent palestinians.
If you care to look at some facts here are some very interesting sites that no one can dispute! No one!

I forgot, thats right Jews care and value life so much that they bulldozed right over Rachel Corrie, an American peace activists that had more courage than the person who murdered her to fight for what was right.

I am not anti Jew, however I am pro humanity.

Those who say that all of Israel was built on Palestinian land are exaggerating. Only 93% or 94% of it was.

When it comes to war crimes, I believe it doesn't matter how much of the settlement land is built on privately-owned Palestinian land vs. public or communal land, it is a war crime to build any settlements at all on land taken by conquest of war and transfer one's civilian population to it.

With respect to Crimes against humanity, the International Criminal Court defines the following (Article 7):

For the purpose of this Statute, "crime against humanity" means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:
(a) Murder;
(b) Extermination;
(c) Enslavement;
(d) Deportation or forcible transfer of population
(e) Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of phyisical liberty in violation of fundamental rulse of international law;
(f) Torture;
(g) Rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, force pregnancy, enfored sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity;
(h) Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, genter as defined paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissable under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court;
(i) Enforced disappearance of persons;

Well, I think Israel is guilty of (a), (d), (e), (f), and (h) against the Palestinians living under occupation. I would agree that the use of Palestinian land for settlements is an example of (h).

YES! Palastinians did not come from Mars! So why do people assume Jews were there first? Yes it is a crime and a real tragedy when Palastinian woman, who cover, get raped at check points. And when hard working Palastinian men get their visa passes taken just because ,and cannot go to work the next day to support their family. By the way I am from Jewish decent and I even understand.

I think it is an even larger percentage. It is a crime against humanity yet everyone turns a blind eye and thinks the "terrorists" are blowing themselves up just because they want to get to heaven faster. Life in what is left of Palestine is very hard and people there take comfort in the life after death. They figure, if I'm going to die anyways why not die faster and take a few people with me.
At least that's how I understand their justifications and how my Palestinian friends see it as well.

Nothing will be solved in this sort of debate .....some of your answerers have little knowledge or acceptance of the wrongs on their own side so how can you reach a consensus ?

An example ....claims were made that the terrorism exists on one side only .False ! History records vile acts of terrorism from those extremists pressuring the British to leave Palestine in the mid 40's .That is fact ! That is history !

Until people on both sides accept that right & wrong exists on BOTH sides this debate is a farce & will never reach a just conclusion .

You're right and I totally agree with you .
Some of those who answered before me obviously didn't read the question , they keep talking about Israel's services to Israelis and about how great Israel is !
PEOPLE ! HE"S TALKING ABOUT PALESTINIAN LAND !
For those who want proof , here's your proof :
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/790748.html
That study was made by Israelis not palestinians , not arabs
And I believe that's a famous and reliable newspaper in Israel , isn't it ?
By the way , all of Israel was build on Palestinian land . Israelis know it's true more than anyone .
