Do something to eliminate landfills would help. Trash is being dumped in landfills to rot and polute the air. That trash should be processed into raw material and used instead of using new raw material. This must be done with new engineering that recycles all the trash humans generate. Its not a project you can do at home because most of what needs to be done has to be done on a large scale to be effective and cost efficient. The thing is the replacement of landfills with a new process will reduce to need for new raw material as well as reduce polution. Its a very good project if any interest could be focused on this detail. There are several things that could be done not now even being kicked around. Water can be better used and airconditioning better designed using freeze process. This would conserve many tons of oil and other energy supplies. Oil can be made from plants grown for this purpose which would reduce the use of oil pumped out the ground9it could completely replace oil from the ground). As things stand at this time nothing is being done other than things to feel good about. The proplem is very fixable if the will to do so can be found.

stop the millions of women from washing their clothing in the rivers with harmfull detergents

stop the municipalities from taking gravel for concrete from the river beds which were breeding places for shrimp and fish

stop people dumping rubbish on the river banks ,shoot them if you have too

stop people from slash and burn farming ,shoot them if you have too,

stop people from dumping dead bodies(animals) in the rivers ,

stop raw sewage from draining into waterways,

stop farmers from dumping acidic coffee husks into the rivers

stop the army from washing their containers which had toxic herbicides ,in the rivers

stop the ilegal traffic in exotic timber and shoot the truck drivers

hunt down and shoot the traficars of exotic animals

much more vigilance on eco tourist for not dumping trash like beer bottles which can start forest fires.

provide better & more accomodation ,and more services to accomodate eco tourism

so that more people will be encouraged to visit so that they can be charged ,to help make the environment sustainable,

involve local people in maintanence,services and as guides
